I gave my mom my original xbox and she'd play it up until this year...like barely, but she'd start it up.

She still has my old copy of Links lol

They got a One recently just for streaming and games for when littler kids come over

Ehh...I've been playing older gems that I've never played (so no nostalgia) and having a lot more fun with them than 90 something % of the new AAA stuff that's been coming out.

I have about 40 original Xbox games, and play that system more than the PS4. Many games have not been updated or improved upon on more recent consoles and probably never will. Games like X-Men legends, Godzilla: Save the Earth, NBA and NFL Street are more fun than most recent PS4 releases.

I also like that I can find a lot of games for around $10 or less. Luckily I already have all the expensive ones like the Star Wars and Godzilla titles.

Just modded an og Xbox. Forgot that this thing can actually output 720p !

And a lot of these emulators that have been worked on and updated over the years have support for it too.

Didn't even need to crack it open either. Just needed to order some wire for like 3 bucks and a copy of the original Splinter Cell.

So many great sports titles for that era of gaming and as others have said, a lot of those games still hold up.
Hitz Pro was a very underrated game. The puck physics and goalies were awesome.
I bet they'd even stand up to today's games.

I used to frequent a MB called "The Breakaway" and one of the devs for that game stated that they were going to follow up 2003 with a realistic hockey game.
Sadly, it never came to fruition. It would have been amazing if they had the chance.

The Pond Hockey portion of that game was also incredibly fun.

I have a closet full of old consoles and games.I fire them up from time t time. I have hundreds of games because I rarely trade games in. I am currently working on my gaming room that will be ready when I retire in 9 years. It's going to be my own gaming museum of sorts. It will have all my consoles: Sega Genesis , Sega Dreamcast , Nintendo Game Cube, PS 1, 3, 4. Xbox Original , 360 , One. and I plan to pick up a PS2 and N64 if I can get my hands on decent one's , and of course I'll be buying the new consoles that may come out between now and 2025.

Just need to add a few consoles to your retirement paradise of gaming. Sega Saturn, NES and SNES. Then, you'll have an almost complete collection.

Neo Geo, 3DO, Jaguar and Turbo Grafx 16 are not recommended either because there aren't many good games or in the case of Neo Geo, it's still extremely expensive or at least it was last time I checked.
