We can now install a free app called Jaunt on our PS4 which will give us access to like 150 unique VR experiences which are all free I believe too.
Its great to hear you are loving it!! May I suggest "Keep talking and no one explodes" with your wife or a significant other...it's one of the best co-op games my wife and I have ever played!

Someone on Facebook recommended it and wow, it's a lot of fun disarming bombs together. My wife and I played for like 6 hours straight on Christmas Eve and got to bed at like 3am...LOL

Thanks for the heads up on the game! Sounds like you and your wife had a great time playing together into the early mourning. Those are cherished moments.

Wife is going to need to slowly ween herself into this. She didn't fare well with me deep sea fishing so this maybe a little slow going for her. She definitely sounds interested in finding out though.

Yeah man I'm surprised that she bought me a PSVR to start with and then doubly surprised she's really into it. I've been trying for years to get her into games but about the only thing she's ever played much of with me is Diablo and that's about it.

For anyone wondering about what the Apollo 11 VR status is......VR Education tweeted the following but unfortunately, it still doesn't give us an exact due date. It sounds like a price tag of $10, same as the pc. This release will feature new animations from previous build.

"The long awaited new and improved Apollo11 VR PSVR release date is January 2017. Something to look forward to early in the new year."

I'll wait for the reviews first, but if it's good, I'm all over it.

Virtual reality is going to get scary in 2017: The Fox Innovation Lab and filmmaker Ridley Scott have teamed up to make an “Alien: Covenant” virtual reality (VR) experience.

The experience will be available as a paid title on major VR platforms. There’s no word on an exact release date yet, but it’s worth noting that “Alien:Covenant” the movie will be released in May.

What we do know is that it aims to scare the pants off its viewers: The Fox Innovation Lab team describes the experience as “a dread-inducing journey into the depths of the Alien universe.”

The “Alien: Covenant” VR experience will be executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by David Karlak. It’s a cooperation between Scott’s RSA Films, the Fox Innovation Lab and MPC VR, a Technicolor Company.

Quiet thread...

UploadVR was able to get confirmation from Sony that Rigs will not be getting any DLC after closing the studio that made it. Rigs was UploadVR's game of the year for PSVR.

They also are already wondering if that studio's closure is one of the first signs that Sony is already pulling back from the PSVR.

A bit premature, but they make a couple of good points.

For me I'm more focused on the HTC Vive. Should have one in a month or so.
Still love the PSVR but hasn't been too fruitful as far as new items/games.

Yes it is premature, a fledlging studio shutting down means nothing in terms of VR as a future technology on the PS4 IMO.

Sony released a plethora of content for the PS4 from October to Christmas...yes it has been rather quiet lately (January) but I remain hopeful that we will start hearing more soon.

19 year old Guerrilla Cambridge, responsible for MediEvil, LittleBigPlanet, KillZone: Mercenary and the aforementioned 'best PSVR game' RIGS among others is a fledgling studio? lol.

Beyond Resident Evil, what are you looking forward to on PSVR?

To take a quote from Forbes a couple days ago:
I can only pin down two specific dates for PSVR releases in 2017: January 24th for Resident Evil, and March 14th for Ubisoft’s Star Trek Bridge Crew. Everything else, another 14-15 upcoming games (and arguably none as big as these two), are assigned to either quarters or the year in general with no firm dates. Googling “upcoming PSVR games” yields outdated lists and no official results from Sony. On Sony’s own site, of the many PSVR games it has listed, almost all of them are already out with just a few upcoming in 2017.

Remember, Sony said they were treating this as a console launch, just doesn't feel like much of one a few short months into it is all.

Again, the 'doomed' stuff is a bit premature, but many good points being made. Did they do the opposite of what Nintendo is doing with the Switch and put too much content out too quickly perhaps?

Maybe not fledgling but even so, because they made one VR title and then shut down that means VR on the PS4 is doomed? Sorry, I fail to see the relevance. If they shut down after one title its likely they had ongoing issues with developing as a studio period, it doesn't seem to reflect to me on the future of VR so much as the history of the studio not living up to expectations.

Also, Killzone was never as big of a hit as a series as people thought it would be and LittleBigPlanet, well one could say the same for that title as well. Well publicized titles, well known titles, but never did as well as Sony had hoped they would do.

I'm not worried just yet about it, like I said, I've seen a ton of content (my PS4 VR folder is filled with games) but yes having some major announcements in the near future would be great.

Re: PS VR

The Forbes article makes no sense. So if I google XBox1 Exclusive games for 2017 and I can only pinpoint Halo Wars 2 with the only firm date, does this mean doom for XBox also? And how many studios did Microsoft and Sony close in the past few years? Are we worried that they'll be doomed in the video game industry? Come on.

Apollo 11 VR Experience is completed and going through the Sony approval process at the moment. Gaijin Entertainment (War Thunder) is still in development with PSVR and made the following statement on their forums, "Providing any dates will be a breach of our NDA with Sony. We'll only announce it once we have the exact date of VR patch release." These titles probably don't even resonate with Forbes at the moment nor is there any word or much info being documented or listed as releases for PSVR. I bet there are many titles these editors are clueless about. Heck, Sega may come out anytime now and surprise us with an Alien VR release. Even EA is jumping in on VR bandwagon with an unannounced title at the moment. So the support is there and growing.

So when someone purchases a Nintendo, a PS, and an Xbox console, they're usually purchasing a system for the exclusives correct? What's that? Maybe five or six games? There's only a handful of games that I'm interested in and I do wish there was more for us now, but when I am VR gaming, it beats regular gaming big time.

Beyond RE7, here are the titles I'm interested in;

Apollo 11 VR Experience
Star Trek Online Bridge
Farpoint
Ace Combat 7
War Thunder (only need a patch)
Megaton Rainfall

And who knows what other surprises are out there between now and E3..........

Best games IMO are

Until Dawn Rush of Blood (half off at Best Buy starting Sunday, normally $19.99 and it will be $9.99) - crazy fun and scary!

Batman - short but really awesome

Tethered! - really a great game if you like strategy, God type games

Tumble - really interesting puzzle game

Star Wars Battlefront VR mission - OMG...if you can play this !! Amazing!!

Battlezone seems awesome from the demo too but I've yet to buy it, waiting on a sale..

I'm hearing this update increases the screen size to a larger viewing and adds stability that early adopters complained about. I'm also wondering if we can film in 3D and upload it to Youtube or do we have to wait for another update to do so. If anything, there's a huge library to view.

Sounds like the release is going regionally. Here is a confirmed list and how to update if you're wondering.

YouTube 1.10 Update On PS4 Adds PlayStation VR Support on Youtube

“The latest update – released today – adds support for YouTube’s rapidly expanding library of virtual reality videos, allowing PS4 and PS VR users to once again step beyond the screen and explore detailed 360° worlds as though they were standing right there,” Sony writes on the PlayStation blog.

In order to download the updated app, PS VR owners need to navigate to the PlayStation Store on their PS4 console.
Once updated, you’ll be able to launch the new app and select ‘View on PlayStation VR’ from the menu.

Next you’ll be able to to pick 360-videos from the menu and simply pick out your clip.

Beyond RE7, here are the titles I'm interested in;

Apollo 11 VR Experience
Star Trek Online Bridge
Farpoint
Ace Combat 7
War Thunder (only need a patch)
Megaton Rainfall

And who knows what other surprises are out there between now and E3..........

You also have gran turismo coming that has vr support as well. Too early to be giving up on the psvr IMO.
