Been trying to recover my VR legs again but it's taking longer than I thought. Need to try something smoother on the brain and Paper Beast being offered for free at the moment sounds like that hopeful smoother solution. The demo was good and I've been waiting for this game to drop in price so I'm in.

Doom 3: VR Edition will be available on PS VR on March 29, including both campaign expansions and backwards compatibility on PS5.

But first, let’s talk about the Aim Controller. Supporting the Aim (including left-handed mode) was a top priority for both us and id Software: with it, you can truly hold weapons like the BFG 9000, feel their weight in your hands, and wield them with brutal efficiency. Personally, using the Aim Controller quickly became my favorite way to dive into the demon free-for-all.

Sony’s next-generation VR headset for PlayStation 5 has significantly higher resolution, inside-out tracking, a vibration motor, and even foveated rendering, reliable sources tell UploadVR.

We don’t yet know the product’s name, but multiple sources tell us Sony shared details with partners. Those details include a resolution of 4000×2040 pixels (2000×2040 per eye), a lens separation adjustment dial, and gaze tracking capable of foveated rendering. A motor in the headset can be used by developers to give direct haptic feedback.

Vive Pro 2 is pretty disappointing, $1400 for the kit, $800 if you are just upgrading your HMD. Personally I'd also need to replace a lighthouse ($199) and the wireless adapter ($350 and lowers the resolution) to get a comparable experience to the Quest 2... which is only $299.

It could help set a high bar to help make the prices of PSVR2 more palatable, but wired and locked to one ecosystem will be a hard sell in our house

Although disappointing, I'm sure their plan is to try to keep the costs of the headset to around $399-$499 which is their plan as a viable cheaper alternative to a PC VR setup as you mentioned.
As for popularity, all Sony needs is that "must have" vr game that sets itself different from the field, and Sony does have the studios and artists to soften that sell for you/us with their exclusives.

The group that created YAW VR are now taking orders for those interested in getting into the Yaw2 VR kick starter's special prices. You can access the link here. Kick Start ends in six days. It will be compatible with all the VR headsets currently out in the market. Should be also for PSVR2 too when it releases. YAW2 VR retail releases Sept of this year.
