Re: PS VR

Whoa! What's so interesting about this Sony PSVR2 Advertisement is there's actual gameplay of Project Wingman in it with an expected 2023 release and it looks

Hands-On - Project Wingman: Frontline 59 Brings Intense Dogfighting To PSVR 2

Project Wingman: Frontline 59 brings the acclaimed aerial combat game to PSVR 2 with a new campaign. Developed by Sector D2, we went hands-on with a preview build during Gamescom 2023. Read on for our full impressions.

Three years since Project Wingman first appeared, Humble Games' Top Gun-inspired flight fantasy is back with an expanded story and optional PSVR 2 support. I'm told Frontline 59 adds another two to three hours across six new missions, playing a rookie pilot in your military's reserves that never expected to be deployed.

Sense Controllers are unsupported, so I played with a DualSense gamepad with shoulder buttons to brake, accelerate and turn, plus face buttons for weapons. Adjusting to this approach took some time and it soon felt natural and I really enjoyed switching between enemy targets using PSVR 2 eye tracking.

Project Wingman: Frontline 59 adds a new campaign on PSVR 2, and we previewed the first mission. Our full impressions:

Journey to Foundation, the upcoming sci-fi adventure hits PSVR2, Meta Quest 2 and PICO 4 on 26th October 2023.

      Road to Foundation

Archiact revealed earlier this summer that Journey to Foundation features a star-studded cast of voice actors. These include Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect’s Commander Shepard) as Vex, James Mathis III (Hildisvíni from God of War: Ragnarok) as Cyril Gant and François Chau (Ghost of Tsushima) as Agent Ward’s commanding supervisor Commissioner Han Bo.

This being a sci-fi epic you can expect plenty of stunning locations as well as heartbreaking decisions to make.

      Journey to Foundation features include:

Experience the Foundation: Immerse yourself in Asimov’s innovative universe in this interactive VR experience.

Participatory Narrative: In this narrative science fiction adventure, your decisions will have consequences that affect your journey.
Mentalism: Uses mental science to discover and influence the emotions of others; your life could depend on it.

Equipment to rule in the stars: You will have the best weapons and tools that the Empire offers. How you use them is up to you.

Dynamic Conversations: Interact and connect with characters on a whole new level thanks to an innovative dialogue system.

Extensive Gameplay: Dress up, hack, and blast your way through the galaxy. You decide how to face each situation; With the tools at your disposal you can forge your own path.
Journey to Foundation is available to wishlist for PSVR 2 and Meta Quest 2 now

Archiact has announced that its sci-fi adventure Journey to Foundation will arrive for PSVR 2, Quest 2 and PICO 4 in late October.

Just now seeing this. Boxed up in Jury Duty all day. This was a full VR game on PC. Shameful, absolutely shameful, and a no buy for me.

Looks like a HARD PASS for Tennis on court for me. Early reports are it's very glitchy and bare bones. This norm is sounding too familiar.

Unfortunately, we won't be playing Phasmaphobia on Halloween. You can read the developer's update here. Might take a look at Journey to Foundations now.

There's some good news however lol. Crossfire: SS received an update that we can now do manual reloads and the popular Breachers is coming next month.

I've noticed that VR sports games for the most part use cartoon like characters. While console games today are getting more and more realistic in how they portray the players. A few are almost photo realistic.

Is there a technical reason for why they don't follow suit? Too much demand on the system? I've held off buying Oculus because of this. I do see some shooters like a few war games where the characters look real...but sports games? Not so much...

Oh, they can very much so match in processing power. It's not a technical issue, its a license issue that holds it back. Playstation and Xbox consoles sell in the millions. For this platform, new licenses for players, leagues, and franchises get introduced. VR headsets, although slowly getting there, (think Meta at the moment) represents another platform that license fees would be associated with. VR headsets are nowhere close in number of units sold to justify such a fee. Even licensed games like NFL Pro Era Vr by StatusPro is created in an engine much less costly than compared to say UR Engine 5.1. It's just too costly at the moment to justify. I think eventually, it will happen. Meta has the resources.

There's one other path. Sony partnering with MLB and getting The Show on their PSVR2 unit. I'm sure that partnership can be had. It's the Players Union that still wants every $

Still, get the Q3 because it looks amazing and getting better with body tracking coming soon. I'm in, once I get all my holiday spending done first.

Been looking into what deals to get. Definitely in on Peaky Blinders but since it's already priced at $20 and I noticed that the PC version received a patch update, going to wait until later. Journey To Foundation is 30% off which looks interesting and Paradise Hotel got good reviews is priced at its normal rate $20
