Yeah, I'll go back and play Mad Max from time to time but after maybe an hour if that, I get extremely bored because I did it all already which is why I stopped buying digital games if I already completed the game physically. It's like, why am I wasting money on a game I already completed and will most likely never play again? Especially when that money could go towards a new game that I haven't played.

Movie wise, I'll re-watch some of my movies but that's more because I think the majority of movies nowadays sucks compared to when I was younger. Also, movies are maybe 3 hours max depending on the movie where as majority of the games I play are more like 15 hours minimum. LOL.

TV show wise, I'll watch clips or full episodes of Married With Children as that's literally the only TV show I can watch over and over again and still laugh my butt off. But it's 20 minutes give or take an episode. Again, much different than games.

Take now for example, im working on my backlog of games I haven't played yet or completed. In two weeks, I finished three games and quit two others which just weren't for me but were worth trying out. Thursday will be a game that once im done with it, my backlog for this only consists of 5 2018 games. Everything else is done.

If I was to replay games, not only would I just add more games to my backlog, I would be missing out on some good to great to excellent games because instead of playing them for the first time, im re-playing games in which I know everything already and honestly, that's just not any fun for me anymore.

Also, with next gen just under two years away and me having an 8 game backlog from last gen, I want to have it all eliminated by the time the next consoles release. I don't want to get stuck with a backlog like I have now because the games will eventually look and be outdated and I won't want to play them.

Perhaps the biggest factor of all at least for me is back when I was younger, all I played was sports and puzzle games as well as Final Fight CD for Sega CD over and over and over again. Doing that caused me to miss out on so many games that there's just no way im playing any of them now. Add in the fact that I stopped being a collector two gens ago and yeah, it's just one new game after another because I want to experience and play games that I haven't played and completed as opposed to games I have which in turn lessens the experience simply because I know how the entire game plays out.

You say that you have side content left in Zelda so it makes sense to go back to play the game because you still have stuff you haven't done in the game but for me, I do all the side and optional stuff on my first play-through because for me personally, once the main story campaign is done, game itself is done no matter what.

Take Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle for example and highly recommend by the way. I completed the first 3 worlds 100%. After completing the 4th world and thus, the story, you gain an ability that allows you to get the stuff in world 4 that wasn't accessible. I went back in trying to do that and nope, quit after maybe 20 minutes. Just can't do it. The interest, appeal, motivation and determination at that point is just gone. LOL.

Obviously, to each their own. I just prefer to play new games that I haven't played or at least try out as opposed to replaying a game I already completed. Sorry for the long post.

I keep flip flipping on picking it up on release or waiting. We're getting a handful of games for Christmas so we don't really need to add to the collection yet.

True. I'm getting it at launch and will play it the week before REmake2.

My GCU ended in August but luckily, my friend and co-worker has GCU until October 2019 and is letting me use it for the year so thankfully, im good for at least one more year.

DKC TF is a great plat-former. Definitely worth a play-through.

I get indies digital, they're cheap and not always physical. Mario Kart I got digital because I knew I'd always want it....the others I get physical

Got smash have not played a lot of it yet just like 1 night with 1 friend, and hanging out one night and playing with another friend, and like 30 minutes by my self. I am not that good but I have not played a lot of smash bros before even though I do love Nintendo the only smash games I have are this one and the one on wii u and I hardly played that one. I am still busy playing shadow of the tomb raider on ps4 and spiderman dlc 3 comes out Friday, and I also got star link like a week or 2 ago when it was on sale for 40 for the starter pack with star fox. Star link I have put in like 2 hours on so far and I think it is pretty darn good games kind of like star fox adventure only good lol. Also there is some music in there that is music from star fox snes my favorite star fox game that just brings back nostalgia for me big time.

When it comes to play something again or watching something again I am glad I can do it and not be bored for a few reasons. 1. I find most tv shows suck now days and shows like full house, fresh prince, home improvement etc are much better so if I didn't like watch shows like over again I would not really have any tv shows to watch heck I have went like 4 times threw smallville from start to finish. 2. I dont care/not interested in has many movies has a lot of people so if I didn't watch movies over again I wouldn't be watching movies that often that. 3. With replaying games it like gives you something else to play when there are times with out a new game being out that interest you at all. 4. Over all just would have less things to do to keep me from being bored.


The bad thing with replaying games is 1. It takes time away from other games and makes it easier to have a backlog. I think the only way I will never have a backlog is if I won a lot of money and could retired there for I would have a lot more free time not having to deal with work, school, hw. 2. It saves you money have you can get money back by trading or selling games and use that money on the next game you are going to get. 3. It saves you space that having more and more games takes up in your house, apartment etc. When I was younger I mostly played sports games but now I play less sports games for a few reasons. 1. Playing sports games takes up a lot of time you can be playing on other games has it takes a lot of time to go threw a seasons in sports games and that is what I would always play in sports games is like franchise mode. 2. I think sports games have gotten worse now. 3. Kind of goes back to number 1 but I have a lot less free time than I used to when I was a kid and could play for like hours and hours in a row all the time.

Anyway, enough of all that. Who else is buying New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe on January 11th? This will be the second Wii U game that I have played in which I wanted to see ported. Have only one game left - Super Mario 3D World which im hoping gets announced in 2019 at some point.

Being that I owned a wii u and had that game already on it and seeing so many wii u games getting ported to switch it is pissing me off. I think wii u was a solid system and I dont really understand why it sold so bad and seeing all the ports is just annoying me. It makes the wii u seem like a bigger waste of money has the switch is getting most of those games any way and I wouldn't have like had to spend 350 on a wii u to get most of those games. I may get the game at some point even though I have it on wii u because they added a lot to it so its got continent that I dont have and that also like piss me off but also makes it like a better port.

DKTF is great have it on the wii u its one of the best platformers of all time and heck it is almost worth playing alone for just its amazing soundtrack yes its soundtrack is really that good! I really hope we get a new DK game on switch in the next like year or so its my second favorite Nintendo franchise behind Zelda for me.

I've been the opposite. I'll typically turn on my PS4 to stream Netflix or a basketball game and have the Switch in my hands.
