USB to HDMI especially for online play. Nintendo online (especially wifi connectivity) is some poop.

For Smash I recommend a Gamecube adapter especially if you comfortable with the Gamecube Controller. Best controller to play smash with (I dislike the GC Controller though)

I use the Pro Controller. Very well made and solid for most games.

I personally stay away from the wireless Gamecube controller. Lots of issues I read about it breaking and losing connection.

The only thing I really bought "extra" (aside from a Pro controller) was a USB adapter so my Sony Golds would work.

The one I mentioned early on. There 8Bito one? I love that thing. I too have a pro controller. You've heard how pissed I was when it didn't work for Mario Party. Had to go out and buy Joy cons that didn't even connect all the time.

Just completed Super Mario Maker 2 story mode with bonus levels.

Really enjoyed each and every level. Also, played several created levels and wow, some creators are crazy talented.

Some of the levels in Story Mode are no joke. This was a great addition to Mario Maker, really provides newcomers with an idea of what to expect when they start playing the created levels.

I've got the NES-themed 8BitDo controller and use that for all of my platforming and retro games. Great controller.

Fire Emblem might be my favorite game of the year so far, across all systems. Definitely not regretting the Switch purchase between that and Mario Maker 2.

Tips for what - just the general gameplay?

If you're struggling in battles, try to play defensively - not charging into a crowd. More than other games in this series, most enemies will come at you on their own instead of you having to instigate. Try to pay attention to the danger zones (highlight an enemy to see their move range, or pull the R Trigger to show all enemies attack ranges) and the target lines when you move your units around. If two or more physical enemies are targeting a unit that isn't a high-defense "tank", you are probably going to have a bad time.

Beyond that it's just about knowing what your units are good at doing, and putting them in positions where they are most effective. You kind of get a feel for that as the game goes on.

If there's anything more specific you need help with let me know.

Haven't had a chance to start this yet, but am looking forward to diving into the story and already know the gameplay will be excellent.

So about a year ago I sold my Switch and I just got a new one a couple days ago with Mario Maker 2. It's pretty awesome.

Has anyone played Octopath Traveler? Is like the old school Final Fantasy games? Is it good?

Just beat MUA after about 18 hours of game time or so. Now I am going to get back to Mario maker 2. I dont really make levels I have like no creativity but I like to play other peoples levels. I still need to play more Smash at some point I have only put around 5 hours into it.

The replay ability of Mario Maker 2 is nearly limitless. I don't make levels, either (at least not good ones), but there's always new ones to check out, which I enjoy.

I've put about 20 hours into Octopath Traveler. I'm not a big RPG guy, but this game I really do enjoy, just don't get a lot of dedicated time to play it. It does have a older FF feel to the game, but the combat is similar to Bravely Default if you happened to check that out on the 3DS.
