      Necroing this.

I've had back problems for the last year or so and I've been trying to find a new chair for my office. I really like the gaming/racing chairs because of their high back and the adjustments you can make on them. I'm trying to figure out if my one experience with them is the norm or not. I tried out the Need For Seat Maxnomic about a year ago and promptly returned it. The seat cushion was so hard my *** would go numb after about 30 minutes even when putting a chair cushion on it. I have read that the Need For Seat chairs are generally more firm than others, but this was like sitting on a rock. Are the other brands like DXRacer and others like that as well? I'm just trying to find something that will take some pressure off my lower back while also giving some higher back/neck support when I lean back.

AKRacing chairs definitely don't feel like sitting on a rock. They have a separate pillow and neck that you attach too for lumbar support but i ended up taking the neck one off, it felt off for me. They are pretty comfortable but i don't really know any better since i used to get crappy office chairs but i know they are very well constructed.

I might splurge one day and get one of those chairs that tech youtubers are using nowadays.

This is one of my major concerns during gaming too!! my back hurts after 2-3 hours, not to mention the eyestrain i get from focusing to the game! hahaha.
I took the factors mentioned in this blog: https://thewiredshopper.com/best-gaming-chair/ and bought a gaming chair online that is suitable to my needs.
