With Gamefly, I felt as long as I rented 4-5 games a year, it would feel like it I was getting years worth. I rather pay less than that and be able to access so much more quality games.
I never thought I'd like a subscription service, but it's amazing. I get lots of indie games I'd never buy, all the MS exclusives (which alone make it worth the year price, especially when you get a deal), whereas getting 2 games at release (or 4 on sale) would cost more usually...and I get less value cause I have fewer options.

Subscriptions let me have zero attention span yet still have fun too lol

Give me all PS5 & PS4 exclusives, some past gens third party games, and then occasionally add regular PS5 games at a price at most 12.99 a month of 12 months for $120, I would be down day one.

With all the talk about launch lineups and this one likely mattering even less since your able to play ps4 games. If your buying the ps5 at launch how many games do you plan on buying ? I only plan on buying 2 with 3 being the absolute most and that would have to mean NBA2K has a lot of features. I don't want to drop $180 + on games at launch so I'm just looking for 2 quality games.

A sports game is one I want to buy day one. I'm expecting all of them to visually take it to another level. But I don't know. Besides the typical mode strip down, I fear we will continue to see the same trends. I bought 2k knowing I wanted to pass. I bought it because I had a gift card on top of Black Friday deal. I ended up only playing it for several hours total before selling it with my PS4. Just like I have wanted to buy Madden this past gen, but couldn't force myself too. In a perfect world, I would love to buy 2k and Madden day one. But good chance, I might not get either

My work has a wellness/wellbeing stipend of 500 a year where they pay for half of stuff, so that's where i'm probably getting a Series X (I just pay half) but I may also just hold off until the following Black Friday I dunno.

PS5 would be if there was a decent service and end up getting a deal on BF or something where it's not that much money. Multiple ecosystems is rough though too.
It will definitely start adding up now that Best Buy ended GCU and my friend's membership expired back in October. I can play up to 20 games a year and I would say that I buy them day one 90% of the time at full price so now, that would be $600 a year but it's spread throughout the year as opposed to all at once.

Replayability is literally worthless to me simply because once a game is done, it's gone. I rarely buy games digitally unless it's a digital only game and when I do, it's only because there's going to be expansions for it and im all in.

Game Pass is excellent and great value but for me, the vast majority of the games on there (good or bad) simply aren't for me and thus, will be ignored and games that are for me I already played and completed.

Game Pass biggest positive for me are the console exclusives being day one. For multi-platform games that I actually want to play, im simply not going to wait "to see" if those games get added because there's no guarantee that they will. If multi-platform games that I actually want to play go on Game Pass day one (like Mutant Year Zero for example), then awesome but if not, oh well, I'll just buy the game because while money is obviously valuable, there's something even more valuable to me - MY TIME because unlike money, I can't get it back or make more of it.

It's cool that your job has that kind of benefit. You can't go wrong.

I'm now day one for both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Granted, it will be expensive but im already at $1007 in trade in credit at GameStop and will probably have around $1200 or so by the summer time. Plus, when using trade in credit, no sales tax so if both consoles launch at $500, I'll save around $90.00.

You prefer to replay games as opposed to playing new games for the first time? I used to replay sports and puzzle games but playing them like 95% of the time meant missing out on so many amazing games back then. Now, I rarely if ever replay a game simply because the excitement of seeing/playing the game for the first time is gone due to the fact that I know everything already.

Also, the one single game I replayed this gen, I criticized and had more complaints the second time than the first time. That game was The Witcher III. Love the game. Still #1 for the gen but playing through it the second time knowing everything already definitely didn't have the impact it did the first time which is another reason why I don't replay games. I feel as replaying a game means that I will have more negatives and be more of the critical of the game due to knowing everything already.

I simply prefer to play every game once and whatever my opinion is of it, that's it. Don't want to change my initial impressions and rating of the game because it would only go lower due to me nitpicking and noticing every little flaw.

With that said, I will however wait if a game needs to be patched due to technical issues like Mafia 3/AC Unity or if the gameplay/combat needs to be changed like with Darksiders 3. Otherwise, they're all one and done.

Subscription service is only great for me if the games are day one. I love Ubisoft and im hoping they bring UPlay+ to next gen consoles because to be able to play the games day one as a monthly rental for $15 is better than buying the games since it's obviously cheaper.

For me, it's all about day one in regards to subscriptions simply because im not going to wait to play a game that I want to play. Also, the longer I wait to play a game and the more time that passes since the game was released, the less interested I become in playing it.

Game Pass is excellent just based on Microsoft's first party titles. Anything extra could be considered a free bonus. I will be playing all of Xbox's console exclusives via Game Pass but I go on a month by month basis. So if for example, I play Halo Infinite at launch and complete it before the month is up (which would be my plan to begin with), I would cancel my subscription until the next exclusive or if day one, a multi-platform game releases.

This applies to all subscription services. Did the free 7 day trial for Apple TV+ and Disney+ just so I could watch the full first season of "See" and "Star Wars: The Mandalorian" and then cancelled them because they literally have nothing else that I want to watch. I also do the same for Amazon Prime.

So if Sony puts their exclusives on PS Now day one AND I can download them, I will simply do the same thing that I do with Xbox Game Pass.

The amount of games I buy at launch will be based on what games are released and available when the console launches. I'm expecting Assassin's Creed Kingdom/Ragnarok and Watch Dogs Legion to be available at launch with both be guaranteed purchases.

After watching the full leaked trailer of Godfall several times, im now day one for PS5 and obviously, the game itself. So that's 3 thus far. If Ratchet & Clank 2 is a launch title, then im up to 4.

Then there's the possibility of next gen ports for The Avengers and Cyberpunk 2077 (which based on the report today should probably just be for next gen itself, lol) which I am fully expecting to be announced and confirmed at E3 2020 so for argument sake, let's add them both so im now up to 6.

But im not done yet. LOL. Rumors of Batman Arkham Legacy being next gen only (or cross-gen) would make it 7 if it gets released on or before the next gen consoles launch. There's also the possibility of Dying Light 2 which was delayed yesterday from Spring 2020 to TBA. Techland already confirmed DL 2 to be cross-gen so if it gets released on or before the next gen consoles launch, that would make it 8 games even though im expecting DL 2 to be January 2021 but we'll see.

And the above is just based on what I know, has been confirmed, am expecting or leaks/rumors.

Plus, that doesn't count Xbox Series X which would be Halo Infinite and the console version of Gears Tactics (both via Game Pass) but overall, im looking at the possibility of 10 games at launch across both consoles.

Oh, and by the way, this doesn't include games that get released in the Fall for Switch.

Too many????? Too much????? Hahahaha. Hehehehe. lmao.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

I want to buy at launch and its likely coming down to the launch lineup. Like I said in a earlier post the biggest thing for me is do we get 2 of the major games that are coming out at the end of ps4 which for me is watch dogs, avengers, cyberpunk and ghost of Tsushima. I am not going to have the time to play all of them plus the last of us from June till November.

I always pre order NBA2k and play it a ton which I'm not going to do for the ps4 this year. I'm not expecting a polished game for the first year still Its going to be hard for me to pass it up since I'll be making the jump to 4k.

The very least I expect to be able to get NBA2K with one of the 4 cross gen games which would likely be enough to tide me over for a few months. I'm not expecting Sony to release one of the major exclusives at launch so maybe Godfall with a updated Ghost of Tsushima and a smaller online shooter will be enough initially for everyone for the exclusives

Multi-platform wise, the launch lineup for PlayStation 5 has the potential to be the best of all time. Out of those 4 titles you list, I would say that Watch Dogs Legion is 100% with Avengers/Cyberpunk next gen ports at 75% probability and we should know definitively after E3. GOT is definitely the least probable at 25%.

Barring it actually being bad, im all in with Godfall. I'm also expecting Ratchet & Clank 2 which im also all in with especially since I finally started the 2016 remake earlier today. Played about 7 hours straight and it's damn good. Can't wait to see what the sequel looks like on PS5.

I'm still hoping that Sony decided to make Ghost of Tsushima a cross-gen launch title as that would be the icing on the cake but sadly, while im hoping for it to happen, I would say the chances are slim to none. The only reason I even say slim is because of Avengers/Cyberpunk launching in September which was part of the release window for GOT as Sony normally launches games in late August/early September.

That fact and Sony most likely wanting it to be a franchise means that it either has to release as a cross-gen launch title or in early August a month or so before Avengers/Cyberpunk because as a new IP, the best way for it to succeed outside of being a launch title would be to release it in a slow/dead month.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

Hopefully, we are 2-3 weeks away from a PS5 reveal. Besides the Wired Articles and a few statements, it's has been either radio silence or leaks/rumors. So hopefully when they do reveal, they give the full specs. I do believe the newer rumors about their SSD being faster than Xbox. As far as their features, I'm expecting mainly their First party studios to fully take advantage of them. I don't see third party games take advantage of the haptic feedback on controllers. At first, I didn't really care about BC. But, it could be benefit me if there isn't a huge launch lineup. There are games I want to replay and games I never gave a chance. Like I never played HZD. Hopefully the PS4 games see a performance boost without the need for a PS5 update. Hopefully, the likely Boost mode increases frame rates. If the SSD can affect PS4 load times, that would be a winner. If a game that took a minute or so to load on PS4 could load in seconds on PS5, then that would be a huge selling point for BC. Besides Godfall and likely third party and first party exclusives, there haven't been any other confirmed games.

I am excited. I already have the console saved up for by selling previous consoles. I am pretty much taking this year off from gaming until PS5. I don't really have the time with my infant. But by time PS5 comes out, she'll be a year and half, So it'll be a lot easier to play games then, than it is now. I'm definitely buying right away. But I want to wait a week before purchasing. I'm still cautious there might by tech issues with consoles right away. But after a week, it should be known if there are any issues.

For PlayStation 4, Sony published Flower, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, Resogun, Sound Shapes and The Playroom with a few of these also being on PlayStation 3 or Vita. Nothing special with Resogun being the best game of this bunch in my opinion.

Godfall is being published by Gearbox. It was originally a 2019 game for PS4 but was moved to 2020 for PS5. It is exclusive to PS5/PC but im not sure if it's a timed exclusive or not and im not sure if Sony paid for the game to be a (timed) console exclusive or not. Regardless, it's Gearbox that's publishing the game. Just wanted to clarify that.

Sony hasn't announced or confirmed any launch titles yet. My launch lineup prediction - Demon's Souls Remake (Bluepoint), Killzone 5 or a new FPS IP (Guerrilla), Ratchet & Clank 2 (Insomniac) and The Last of Us Part II online multi-player (Naughty Dog).

We just have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Spec wise, I don't believe that Sony will announce/confirm everything but it's sure to come out by March during GDC (Game Developers Conference). BC wise, it's great but for me personally, I would have already played everything that I wanted to play but it's great if you've missed out on some games and launch lineup is lacking.

SSD wise, im actually much more interested to see if it lessens or eliminates pop-in in regards to the environments/textures loading into the game as opposed to loading screens. I would much rather have a 10 second loading screen and no pop-in as opposed to less loading times and noticeable pop-in.

I already have the credit for PS5 and will pre-order once Sony makes that available. Yeah, the only confirmed title is Godfall but im expecting around 8 or so games total including multi-platform games.

When it comes to BC i hope its ps1-ps4 with all the rumors it would be dissapointing if it was not. If its not a simple you can put any disk in and play but instead only some games or digital only i don't consider that real BC.

When it comes to launch games and how many games i get i don't know. If ratchet and clank gets a new game then i would get that. Games like GOT i expect will get a ps5 patch like games getting a ps4 pro patch so i don't really consider that a ps5 game. If batman arkham really is getting another game i am likely to get that has the arkham games are some of my all time favorite games but i think that would also be a patch so not a real ps5 game but more cross gen.

Peter 420 were did you hear that godfall was going to be a ps4 2019 game? We had not even heard or had the game announced in till game awards 2019 in December. So that sounds unlikely.

About SSD and load times most games don't bother me when it comes to load times but with SSD hopefully the games that have like the longest load times are more like the normal load times of game's we see now.

I agree. I rather have less pop in. For me, I didn't have an issue with loading times. Unless it was excessively long, it didn't really bother me. I'm more concerned about faster game/patch installations. I remember reading the Wired Article and it saying that they have A.I. that guesses where your character is heading and automatically loads in environment. I am really hoping AI in all games sees a huge improvement next gen.

I'm curious to see how the SSD works with a huge PS5 exclusive. It's one thing to show off Spiderman. But I want to see how it is with a big budget PS5 exclusive that pushes the consoles to the max.
But I do think that the SSD really helps the future of gaming. If developers don't have to account for time to load in pop ins and loading new sections, it should allow natural flowing games. We shouldn't see overdrawn cut scenes or being artificially slowed down.

If you go to the 3:00 minute mark, you'll see JorRaptor give info on the game and did research about the game in which he found an interview from Counterplay back in 2018 regarding the game and them saying that they wanted to release it in 2019 which could only be for PS4 because obviously, next gen consoles weren't going to be out by then. Dev kits have only been in the hands of devs/pubs for a year already give or take so there's just no way. Plus when you look at that leaked trailer from a year ago, it looks good but does not look like a next gen title.

The trailer is from an early PC build that was going to be for PS4 later on. It was then moved to PS5 and 2020 as a launch title. After TGA, Counterplay said that they were excited to be working with Sony all the way up to launch so im guessing Sony paid them to make the game a PS5 console exclusive. The only question that remains would be if Sony paid for the game to be a full exclusive or if it's timed. The Epic Games Store has a one year exclusivity deal for the game so since Steam would get it in late 2021, it's definitely possible that the same could happen for Xbox. My personal guess is that the game is a one year timed exclusive but we'll see.
