The two SKU approach with one weaker and one stronger is said to be a definite for Microsoft as the Dealer Gaming podcast I listen to confirmed it via their sources and even were "greenlit" in regards to them being allowed to talk about it. I believe that it was Fonz who believes that it will be $400 and $600 respectively while others believe $300 and $500.
I have never been a fan of the two SKU approach at launch simply because it makes the decision for consumers harder and if they go cheaper, they may end up regretting it. For Scarlett, they wouldn't be surprised if the weaker cheaper console is a 1080P/60FPS console with some extra stuff like HDR, etc.
Me personally, when I hear that and see that PS4 is 1080P for $300, Xbox One Slim is $300 and I believe upscales to 4K, Pro is 4K CBR and X has some games in Native 4K, I don't see why anyone wouldn't just spend the $200 extra and get the main console because if you're buying a next gen console, you should want it to be next gen? Otherwise, what's the point in buying it? Plus, for Scarlett, since you can play the exclusives on Game Pass and save at least $50 (for a month) for each individual game, four games would technically make up the $200 difference.
As for PlayStation 5, there's been rumors of a two SKU approach as well. I'm old school. I simply believe that generations should just consist of one console, one price, one choice. Very easy, simple, straightforward, no compromises, no regrets, no waffling back and forth, it's either a yes or no as opposed to which one should I buy?
Price wise, im expecting $500 for both as anything past that would be putting them close to being dead on arrival. There's a reason why Sony and Microsoft don't give out individual numbers for Pro and X - because neither are impressive whatsoever as majority go with the cheaper option.
But next gen, Ryzen CPU, better GPU, more RAM, HDR, Ray Tracing and so much more, I just hope it's one console. Just give me all that goodness for $500. Combined with Sony/Microsoft getting everything in bulk from manufacturers, their loss would be minimal and easily made up by PS+/Gold subscriptions as around half the user install base are subscribed to either or both.
I know majority wouldn't mind two options but I simply see it as doing more harm than good and to be perfectly honest, defeats the purpose to going "next gen". But that's just me.
