For me, it never mattered. I never watch the comparison videos/pics between consoles. I don't really prioritize the 'ultimate' gaming experience with highest graphical fidelity and performance. I just want great gaming experiences

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

Finally!!! Should be getting the release date, prices and pre-order date. My predictions are as follows -

      Pre-Order Date -
      September 25th

      Release Date -
      Friday November 20th

      Prices -
      PlayStation 5 Digital Edition $400
      PlayStation 5 Disc Edition $600

I'm hoping the Disc Edition is $500 since that's the console I will be buying next Spring but I would not be shocked or surprised if it's $600.

Game wise, launch lineup should be a lot clearer outside of what we already know multi-platform wise. Should see gameplay trailer for Spider Man: Miles Morales. If not, then im expecting a delay.

Not expecting Demon's Souls Remake to be a launch title for one simple reason - it's a niche market and will get drowned out by all the other games at launch. I can see this being early 2021 or summer 2021 in a slow period where it can succeed. But we'll see.

Probably see a new RE 8 trailer unless Capcom saves it for TGS. Also hoping for the Silent Hills reveal because I do believe that it's real and also expecting to see the reveal for Final Fantasy XVI with it being a one year timed exclusive for PlayStation 5.

40 minutes give or take should be a good show.

EDIT: Knew I forgot something. I'm expecting that Sony announces that they've acquired Housemarque and Bluepoint Games.

Glad for another showcase. I don't see a scenario where we don't get Price, Date, and Pre-order informed at end of stream. I don't expect to see games that were previously announced. I expect to see Sony start rolling out more info steadily after this event. There's still a lot of info needed to be revealed. We still need Teardown & UI and more info, PSNow/ PS Store, and gameplay of launch titles

It just sucks that I work 9/16 and 4pm EST is busiest time of day for me. I was hoping for Thursday or Friday. But looking forward to it. Least when i watch stream, i can watch it at 4k

Personally, im not expecting a teardown at all until Digital Foundry does it. Rest I agree with.

I don't see Teardown being apart of a event. I can see that dropping along with a blog post on a random day. If DF does do it, I think the current global situation is a little more stable to have them be flown out to provide access to do teardown.

In general, I don't see Sony doing a teardown at all because why would they? Outside of the SSD, the teardown would expose all the weaknesses of the console compared to Series X. Why would Sony do that? There's a reason why Sony hasn't talked about anything besides the SSD and to a lesser extent, Tempest Audio.

When I say Digital Foundry, I meant that when PS5 releases, they will buy one and tear it down. I don't see Sony doing what Microsoft did with Digital Foundry and Austin Evans. I just don't because if they were going to do that, they would have done it already.

i still think there will be one since Cerny said there would be one. I get the power narrative, but at this point I'm sure many already know which console they are getting. The average consumer doesnt care about having the "best of the best". Outside of Price, the main factors are going to be games, preference, and friends. The average consumer consumer isn't going to have the means/desire to upgrade to a high end TV/Monitor or buying multiple consoles. If you dont a high end TV/Monitor, you aren't going to get the full graphical experience anyway

No the difference in power is not that big and never will be that different, and multi-platform games are not going to be built from the ground up on X. This is not Nintendo where they are like 1-2 gens behind in power. There may be differences but its going to be small. It was not power that made is so 360 games looked/played better in fact ps3 was more powerful. It was more about how the cell chip was hard to program. Even then it was really only a issue for the first like 2 years.

So looks like it is also having some kind of event at pax on friday the 18th. So i think 16th will be price, release date and gameplay such has first game play for spiderman mm. I think 18th we will get more tear down, features and ui look. I hope we see more of Horizon FW but we may have to wait for next year to see gameplay.

There is no way disc will be 600 no idea why you think that. Digital 400 and disc 500 maybe even 400 and 450. No way is Sony going to go 100 above sx when sx is the more powerful of the 2. Also why would there be a 200 difference between digital and disc when they are the same out side of disc drive and a disc drive does not cost even close to 200? The only reason i think we will even see 100 difference is to try to convince more people to go digital has Sony makes more money on digital sales has you don't have to pay for the games to be shipped and packaged and such and going 500 instead of 450 could help make up a little for the digital if is sold at a lose.

I agree. Any difference will be minimal. The bigger gap will be between PS5/SX and Series S. I expect to see a noticeable difference with how Series S looks/performs compared to Series X and PS5. Unless you're someone who focuses on those IGN and DF comparison videos, it's not something that should be a big deal.

Yeah its not like one is going to be 4k and the other 720p or any thing. Just SX might have a few less times of frame drops and maybe 4k when maybe ps5 is like 1800p or something.

I agree. Even if the recent rumors are true that Sony wanted Xbox to release at a higher cost so they could match it at $600, Sony isn't going to gjve Microsoft a $100 cushion between SX and PS5. I don't even see Sony undercutting at $450 for base PS5. I think Sony would be okay with base price being $500. I think it is more realistic that the costs are $450 and $500. Yeah the reason we're suggesting $400 for PS5-DE is to compete with the Series S.

If they do release the Pre-order information(which I expect), I expect Sony to send emails to those who were chosen for the Online Direct pre-order registration. I would imagine they would do the direct pre-orders before retail preorders start. I could see direct pre-orders happening a week before retail. I don't expect to be selected for the direct pre-orders. I just hope I'm able to pre-order a console.

I wasn’t expecting to be selected, but the more I think about it I feel I should be. Been a loyal customer and owned every system at launch. The least they can do is allow me to give them more money on another launch day.
