Why anyone would spend $300 for an under powered S when they can buy a PS5 Digital for $100 more is beyond me.

Because I have hundreds of games for the S, for starters?

Ohhh snap you know that ps5 is 400 dollars? WOW what else can you tell us?

Or maybe if you are right, someone can say why would someone buy a ps5 at 400 when for 100 more you get a stronger console in the X

I look at it as an $840 committment for the Series X.

Not everyone is interesting in the PlayStation exclusives or ecosystem, so there is a reason right there.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

What do you think Sony can charge when Microsoft has their X at $500 with the drive? The digital only PS5 will be $400. You'll see.

Plus not all tvs will be 4k, and it'd be a good streaming device for other rooms. The option is good I think

Plus MS could get PS5 owners to buy the S and Game Pass, leading to them liking the ecosystem

Was thinking of trading my Xbox One X and getting ready for the X Series. Do they usually have deals closer to launch? $175 for my system now makes me weary of trading it in.

As opposed to a $860 commitment you would make with the console and 2 years of game pass with just paying the upfront costs? Nothing like a rent to own and its a very sweet deal that will get a lot of people at that very low initial cost. If they push it hard, unlike they did this past gen, it could be a game changer in this financial environment today.

$300 streaming device sounds like a winner to me. Not.

Pretty sure that if you buy the Series S itself for $300, there's only the 30 day trial to Game Pass Ultimate. If you do the payment plan, that's where they extend the cost but buying the console outright is only $300 unless of course, the buyer wants Game Pass Ultimate for two years.

Sony can charge whatever they want and it will still sell. They are not in position to take a loss on a console with the specs they have for 400 just because MS put theirs at 500 when they know they will sell more ps5 at 500 or 600 dollars over MS at 500

There is word that Sony did not think for a second that MS will put their X model at 500, they felt 600 was the MS price.

I have a seriously hard time believing that Sony will release their console at 400 which will be a huge loss money wise.

I still feel that Sony will do 500 and 550 for both consoles

                                Maybe 450 and 500 or 450 and 550

But Sony at the end of the day is providing a console that will be missing key features found on the X

Sony has not confirmed that they have Free Sync for their AMD GPU which is a biggie

Sony will not have Dolby Vision which X has

The Series X not only will it have

Variable Rate Shaders it will have VRR and Free Sync along with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Those are things very appealing to someone who wants to buy the console for not only gaming but the casual who is the most important buyer that buys a few games but uses the console for 4k blue ray and dolby atmos along now with Dolby Vision.
