Also in the Barron's interview, Lempel was asked for his thoughts on Xbox Game Pass, and specifically how the company launches its first-party games into the catalog. Sony does not do this with PlayStation Plus. Lempel said PlayStation Plus is "very different" from Game Pass, but he wouldn't be drawn into talking about launching first-party PlayStation games on PS Plus.

Re: PlayStation 5
There’s been some criticism over the size of the recent PS Plus subscription price increases—roughly 30%. How do you justify the hikes to the consumer?
We want to make PlayStation Plus great. With our reboot last year and introducing the tier system, a lot of consumers have recognized that there’s a lot of value in PlayStation 5.
Like practically everything else in the world, we have to look at our pricing and we have to adjust to market conditions.
I’m happy to say, unlike a lot of other subscription services out there, we haven’t touched the PlayStation Plus pricing for 85% of the world in many years. So, this was the first time we did something there.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Already pre-canceled my Extra sub before it renews. The goal for me is to get the Essential tier at a discount and later upgrade to Extra when there are the free games I actually want. Part of me, wished I took advantage of the CDKey deals in the past and stacked years up. So if there is any type of discount for Essential, I'll do that. I'm actually hoping it's a drought in good PS Extra games for a few months. The longer you wait to upgrade, the cheaper it is. Like now, if I wanted to upgrade to Premium for the last 22 days of my sub, it'll only be $1.50. So ideally I can hold off until January or February, it should shave off some money. A lot of time, I'll add an PS Plus Extra game just because. This past year, there were probably under 5 games I downloaded and actually played. So, hopefully there is a drought on Extra, so I can save money lol. Because I'm paying for Extra tier for the hope of an occasional Extra game every couple month I will actually playComment

Re: PlayStation 5
As I'm still awaiting for the PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds, I've been seriously looking at the Razor Hammerhead Hyperspeed earbuds licensed for Playstation, which was released earlier this year. Reviews for it have been consistent with 30-hour charge life but, with some haptic/connection issues especially for music? It'll also come in $50 cheaper too. If anyone has them, love to hear your impressions. Some of those early reviews can be found below;

Edit: And just like that pre-orders go live Nov 9 at select retailers and Playstation Direct.Comment

I wished they gave Mafia 2 the remake treatment. Mafia 1 was great and Mafia 3 was still modern enough, that just doing a lower quality remaster was a disappointment for meAttached FilesComment

Re: PlayStation 5
Does anyone have any suggestions for improving the quality of my Madden videos on Youtube? I cant seem to figure out why the quality and lighting is so poor? My process is saving the video after play, then I edit in sharefactory, save to a USB and upload to Youtube. Even after the 4K processing the videos still look washed and very dark. Do I need to use an actual capture card? I've also seen people say to live record vs. going back and saving. Just wondering what I'm doing wrong?

If I remember correctly it might have something to do with the HDR settings. It's been a while so I'm not 100% anymore. It was either that or the file type you have the video in.

You’re saying the HDR settings on my console maybe need to be updated? I’ll check that out. The quality is perfect all the way through editing and on the console but the minute it hits YouTube the colors are washed out and the brightness is shyte EDIT: looks like I was previously set on “Most efficient” which defaulted to WebM file.
Perhaps “Most compatible which defaults to MP4 is the better option? That doesn’t seem right but what do I know? I’m going to try to record my next game in real time to see how it comes out

Re: PlayStation 5
It depends on the quality of the original uploaded video. If the video was recorded in standard definition, it won't be available in high definition.
Have you changed the settings on the PS5? Link below should explain;

1920x1080 30fps.
This is what I have in the capture and broadcast areas. My videos and livestreams also come out great!
The person above put out a good video too, highly recommend doing some YouTube searches!

Honestly didn't know X/Twitter was in the PS5 lol. Seems very unnecessary. I can understand having certain apps on a game console, but social media isn't one of them.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
People like sharing pictures and highlight clips of their games that they play. PS4 had it as well. Hell I remember when it was linked to Facebook, Twitter, Twitch and Youtube. It is was a way more popular used feature than people realize. It was Sony's answer to Elgato. They said hey you don't need to buy another piece of hardware to record your gameplay or take pictures of it, you can do it all within our console itself.Comment
