That hatch is pretty sick. And yes, the guy in the hatch was the guy running in the stadium. Same appearence, same accent, and he said "brother" which they made sure to have Jack mock while in the stadium.

Very, very good way to end the first episode.

P.S. I do like the whole "they're all dead" philosphy. It would explain Locke being able to walk, Kate being freed of her US martial.

Ummm......yeah.... So that was the first episode of LOST that I've ever watched. Very good even though I was pretty confused throughout. I'm not sure why I never watched this show before (despite hearing rave reviews for it all the time).

Looks like I'm going to have to get the first season on DVD and catch-up when I get a chance.

lol when we first saw the opener everyone in the house was trying to figure out who it was. I love how they use the old corny music and then it always breaks up somehow. It was awesome them showing the hatch from the inside when it blew up. And don't tell me yall didn't get Blast from the Past flashbacks when you first saw the hatch.

Kate being freed of her US martial.

Couldn't the US Martial just have died in the crash? Sorry I only have seen tonights episodes and the last episode of season 1 so excuse my lack of knowledge in this show.

But it was a great premiere IMO, that hatch is frickin' awesome.

But it was a great premiere IMO, that hatch is frickin' awesome.

The US marshal dies in I think episode 3 season one. He survived the crash but had massive shrapnel in his chest. Sawyer shoots him but doesn't kill him to take him out of his pain but it only makes it worse. Jack ends up choking him to death so he can die quicker than bleeding to death.

They already said that they are not going to show whats inside the hatch in the opening episode for those of you who wanted to get that tidbit right off the bat.

They will show whats inside the hatch on the third episode of this season.

ok...like WOAH! What a mind f@%k. Where to start. Some of the easy stuff...did you guys catch all the references to the lotto numbers (4,8,15,16,23,42)? First the guy in the hatch rode his bike at 16 mph. Next the guy who died in the ER died at 8:15 (also note that his last name was Rutherford...Shannon's last name and there was mention of her father dying). The painting on the wall had the number 108 drawn into it...if you add up the lotto numbers they add up to 108. When jack is sitting in the girls recovery room the clock reads 2:30...I've read on another message board that the stuff that the guy in the hatch is injecting himself reads all the lotto numbers...but I'll check that out on the recording I'm going to watch tomorrow. I'm sure there are more but that's all I caught for the moment.

Next thing...what's up with the Walt vision...and why is he soaking wet? Was he real or just a vision? What was he whispering? I thought I heard "there is no one else." But I'm not sure.

I like how Locke makes Kate go down first...funny ****. Dude made Boone do the same thing (I know locke was unable to walk at the time but still found that interesting.)

One thing I find interesting...I find it interesting that the girl miraculously gets feeling in her legs when Jack is present...and the same sort of happened to Locke...I might be reaching but still interesting.

Ok...the guy in the stadium...it some of the stuff he was telling Jack was weird...it just didn't seem like your typical conversation...training for a race around the world...not to mention he was extremely intuitive the way he was asking Jack what he was running from and such....almost Locke like. And then at the end when he told Jack that he had to lift it up...and then he said he was talking about his ankle...there are so many different ways you can say that...elevate..prop...but lift it up...sort of like saying he had to lift the hatch (again..I might be reaching)....and then the one line that stands out "I'll see you in another life" That was almost as dead give away that he was the guy in the hatch...actually my GF shouted it out as soon as he said it....and then the mind **** of the episode...he is the guy in the hatch...WTF? Why...how...when? I imagine Jack had to have met him any where from 2 to 5 years prior to that flight. Crazy stuff....lots of questions.

How about QUARINTINE being on the inside of the hatch door...meaning that the outside is what is being quarintined...that was interesting. What was that old *** computer hooked up to? Where those windows that where outlining that dome shaped room with all the mainframes? If those were windows...how so..aren't they underground?


I can't wait for next week.

they're all dead. They saw each other in the next lifetime just as the guy said they would. ****ing brilliant episode tonight.

I'm just not buying that they are all dead...that's been the theory since the series started and I just can't believe that the writers would follow that...I'm sure they are just teasing us.
