Yes you will. Look at the back of your tv. There's really only one spot it can go in. After doing so:

1) Go to www.antennaweb.org and put in your address. It will tell you what channels you can expect and a general direction of where to point your antenna.

2) Grab your remote. Hit the menu button...right arrow over to the satellite. Make sure the tuner mode is set to antenna. Down arrow to autosearch and hit the right arrow. That will automatically start the search for channels.

3) That should be it. Enjoy

I'm starting to get back in the market for a new HDTV. My set is 5 years old now, a 65" rear projection. It's got a nice picture on it and I love the size, but is a little outdated for these days of the PS3. I got no 720p (I do have 1080i though), no HDMI, and no 1080p (so not much Blu-ray enjoyment going on), so that's why I'm starting a new search for a TV. I think I've narrowed my search down to two sets, the

Panasonic - 58" 1080p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV Model: TH-58PZ700U

and the

Sony - BRAVIA XBR 52" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV Model: KDL-52XBR4

I weighed the pros and cons of both systems, but just can't decide which one to pull the trigger on. I like the picture and the size of the Plasma more than that of the LCD. But I'm not sure how much a problem image retention is on plasmas when gaming, which I do just as much as watch TV. The big minus on the LCD is the size, 52" is the biggest you can get without hitting the $7K range it seems and that's a big drop-off from my 65" set I have now. I think the 58" plasma won't be an issue.

So do any of you guys have one of these sets or one in the same series as them? Just wondering what your gaming experience has been on them, especially on the plasma.

Burn in on today's plasmas are no longer an issue, I wouldn't worry about that. I would go with the plasma, I personally think they have a better picture, plus much deeper blacks than an LCD.

But where is he putting the set? If you have any worries for glare (i.e. a window in the area) then you might want to consider LCD.

I've read in the past LCD is better for gaming. Is this a non-issue now? Is there a right or wrong there?

I bought a Panasonic Plasma back in August. My brother and my father both have LCDs(Sony and Samsung). Even they agree that my Plasma's picture is better.

FYI. My brother bought his LCD over plasma because of the concern of image retention. He didn't do his homework. The reason my father got an LCD is because they don't make 32" Plasmas(I should say they didn't. Vizio has one coming out this year).

You will get some IR if you play Halo3 or another game with graphics that are constantly on the screen. You will see this when the screen is totally black, not when you are playing a game or watching tv. HOWEVER... when you switch content(switch to a tv show or anything else) it goes away promptly. Thus it's a non issue.

And yes, I've played Halo3 and College Hoops for hours at a time.

That's what I keep hearing, I've just never owned a Plasma before so I'm a little hesitant. This is good news though, thanks! I like the Plasma picture better also.

I took care of that problem with my other TV. My front door was one of those kind with a decorative window in it, well that door is in the attic now and I just have a solid front door. No light is getting through that, so I don't have to worry about glare.

That sounds good, thanks. The IR is what I'm most worried about, I'm glad it is just temporary, it would still irk me some though. I play a lot of Rock Band and Guitar Hero and they have that solid rock meter on the screen while you are playing a song, luckily there are cutscenes before and after the songs to change up what's on the screen, maybe that'll help.

Basically it gets darker and will eventually go black. I've had my DLP for a few years now and I can see the images getting darker, but it hasn't gone black yet so I've left the lamp in.

Is that pretty much the same thing as a backlight in an LCD? I think I read sites and said mine wouldn't die for like 10 - 15 years.

I'm not sure. It might be.

They say a DLP lamp will last approximately 8000 hours. I'm pretty sure I'm a good ways over that. I might replace it for the Super Bowl even if it doesn't die (since I have a party at my house every year). Everything is definitely darker, but not real bad.

Kevin be mindful Plasma's do have a 200 hour break-in period to help with IR & Burn-In... Biggest thing is make sure all your non HD viewing is done in FULLSCREEN with NO Black/Grey Bars on the sides
