Fsquid - Which one are you thinking of getting? The Tantus or base model?? Both models look great. The Tantus is only $400 more than the base model, but it doesn't seem there's much of a difference aside from appearance and chip. Maybe I'm missing something?

I was looking at a Sony GWIII a while back, but those Sammy's look great. For me a 46" is plenty so I'm sure that's the size I'll get.

the new tantus aren't coming out till Sept/Oct. I'm really digging the base model HLP with the HD3 chip.

Would you shutup already and just buy a freaking TV.. You have been looking for over a year now. I know you have the cash. When this new cip comes out are you going to wait even longer b/c something better will be on the horizon(and there will be)?

Fsquid - What's the main difference between the HD2+ chip and the HD3 chip? From what I know (which is limited since I've just started really looking into Sammy DLP's) the HD2+ chip has a better contrast ratio and is the higher end chip?

The Sammy Base Models are very nice sets, but why are you choosing that over the Tantus set which looks like the higher end model and doesn't cost much more? I'm kind of leaning towards the 46" Tantus model, but am just curious about some of the main differences between that set and the 46" Base Model.

                        Thanks!

there will be a price difference. The Tantus are coming with integrated Tuners and cablecard. I think there will be a $1000 difference between the Tantus and the base. Don't hold me to that number, its a rumor.
