It looks like I'm going to have to get Direct TV, since Cox doesn't service the town I will be living in. How much does it cost for the basic HD set-up (meaning a package without all the premium channels). If you could break it down by component (i.e. $50 per month + $10 for HD) that would be great. let's see, i have the total choice which runs me about $33.00, then i add the Hd-package which is $10.99. you're average bill would be about $48.00 or so

I have direct tv, but with Dish Network there is no fee for starting service and they give you the HD box for free. DTV makes you pay for it. Go to directv.com if you want prices.

Dish's lineup is not that great. I got rid of them for D*TV because it seemed like Dish never showed much of anything, and the price was more. Do you guys know the extent of the quality of their HD service?

Dish is cheaper and the packages are almost the same. No NFL Sunday ticket on Dish though. go to both websites and compare the channels.

You like Dish better than D*TV Heelfan? I couldn't stand the boring lineup. Maybe they've changed over the past 2 years.
