For anyone who can answer....I'm pretty sure I have an HD capatible dish on my house right now. When I moved in April of this year, DirecTv told me to in order to get my local channles through them I should order the "oval" dish. The new dish was free to me because I was moving I assume. Now, I don't have an HDTV and I'm sure neither one of ny receivers are HF compatible.
I'm considering buying the TiVo with DIrectTv receiver. Will this also serve as my future HD receiver whenever I switch over to HD through DirectTv?

      Thanks!!

sorry to say it but no it won't. if you're looking for a tivo/directv receiver that will serve as your HD receiver, you're going to have to wait just a little bit longer. the HD tivo is coming out very soon at a whopping $1000 or so

Does anyone have Voom. It has all these HD channels and even local and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's good or not. Only drawback i've seen is that it doesn't have ESPN (from what i've seen)

I'm interested in Voom too, but I heard that there is some outrageous fee associated with getting the service to start like 700 something bucks. There are a few channels I can't go without, so I'll have to wait to see what happens.

Also dishnetwork is delling a HD package which includes

your choice of 2 different HD Tv's and the entire HD set up for 999.00. I almost want to drop everything to get this great deal, but I already have directv and my own hdtv. I just need the service and equipment.
