Is it true that LCD tv's are better in lit rooms than plasma tv's? I've heard that LCD tv's and HDtv's with dlp are the best kind to buy at the moment, and shows just as great a picture as a plasma.

I've also heard the DLP is the way to go at this moment, anyone else have any thoughts on this?

dlp's are the best choice, but only if you're willing to spend the cash...they can get pretty pricy

lcd's have good picture quality, but have a tendancy to overheat like the plasmas

                        Aright here's a question...

It doesn't really involve a HDTV, but it involves the Xbox HD AV Pack.

This is the TV my Xbox is hooked up to. (BTW it is not a HDTV)

I thought I could hook these component cables up and play games in 480p. I thought 480p was progressive scan. I'm probably wrong. Well I set the settings on the Xbox for 480p. When I turned on Madden I got a picture that was all scrambled. But when I turned on a DVD the picture came out great. Do I get a progressive scan picture if I have the component cables hooked up?

Thanks for any help you can give.

                              this is probably your problem:

check to make sure that your tv can also do 1080 or 720, if it can't do any of those, make sure that you have those two checked off on your x-box dashboard. that should do the trick
