I manually tuned a couple of channels myself and I got ESPN and ESPN 2 so I guess they are coming with them all soon.

I just got this TV from circuit city
(it gets delivered on saturday)
I've been gathering and deciding on all the necessary accessories I need:
Bought: Monster 400 component xbox cables(is this better than the Microsoft HD pack)
Will be getting:
Monster optical cable for 5.1 from cable receiver to home theater receiver
Monster optical cable for xbox to home theater receiver
Monster clean power surge protector
Monster THX 1000 component cables
Need to decide on DVI-D input
So far, i got the HD cable receiver from Charter Communications(I declined their offer of some 15 dollar component cables)
I noticed that the cable reciever has a DVI-D output, I am not sure if i should also get a cable to output this signal to my TV which i believe has a DVI input. The reason is that, if i get another component cable, i will be able to find some other use to it.
Another question is that do you guys think the monster top of the line cables are worth it? they will be costing me a fortune so i'd like to know. Thanks
xbox component: 60

monster component for dvd player:100
dvi-d cable for hd cable reciever:100
optical for receiver: 70
surge protector: 70

you really don't need to get the monster cables. they really don't do that much of a difference for you. as for the dvi output, use it. that's the best connection that you can get. use that dvi output to the tv's input, and use your extra component cables for something else.Comment

Squid, just last Sunday Ultimate Electronics had a special gathering for preferred customers to come in and see the HD-DVR for DirectTV. Their cost was 995 at the time of the gathering and I am sure it will remain around that price for sometime. We were also told that all HD-recievers are being marked down due to the fact the DirecTV will be making their own recievers from now on so there will be no more Sony, Samsung, Hughes, RCA, etc. All will just have have DirecTV on them. Hope this helps some.S.O.S Crew
