Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
What are some key features to look for when shopping around for the best quality hdtvs? As well as something that you buy now and willl be up to date with the latest technology so you wont have to replace it in a year or two?? Only looking to spend roughly between 1200-1900 (preferably on the lower end lol)Iv'e also heard stories about images burning into the picture permanetly.Does anyone have any insight on how to prevent this? And if its a common thing on big screen tvs?

If you are looking to stay on the low end of 1200, I would say buy either the Sammy 30" CRT or the new Sony 30" CRT. Neither will ever give you burn in and both have amazing picture. If you have to have bigger, you are going to be in a projection TV, now many people don't have burn in problems, but my buddy has an EA sports logo burned in the upper left corner of his 53" Sony. Some have it happen, some don't, you just really shouldn't play for long periods of time. No matter what you get, unless it's CRT, true LCD (not projection LCD), or DLP, you have a chance at burn in.
Seriously, for a banging tv, check out the TXP3075 Sammy, 30" CRT, built in HDTV tuner, supports 408P, 720P, and 1080i, not much more you can ask for. It's 1080i native. For brands, Sammy is one of the top makers of HDTV with Hitachi. I am not a Sony fan for their TV's are way overpriced.Comment

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
Thanks for the advice.I went to the samsung website to check out the samsung model you put down but wasnt able to find that model there.Any suggestions on where I can find that particular model? Also went to my local best buy and saw 2 tvs around the 1300 price range that caught my eye....
http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/televisi...sp?model=42H83 (Toshiba 42 inch) and http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?c=...d=58406&m=0 (RCA 52 inch). They where both showing the same broadcast side by side and the toshiba picture was alot crisper than the rca.Toshiba screen looked like a flat screen type picture, was really impressed with it.Any comments on these 2 particular models...the good and the bad? thanks ahead of timeComment

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
1080i is not good for sports? I have never heard that one before. From normal viewing distances, you really can't tell much difference between 480p, 720p and 1080i. The closer you get to the screen, you will notice a difference but it isn't mind boggling. You get more of a screen door effect on 480p when you stand 2 feet in front of the screen.
