Direct TV better get their butt in gear with the HD channels or I will be switching to Voom once my contract runs out.

                  To buy or rent

I believe to rent the equipment is 9.50 per box with a 5 mirrro fee for each extra box. The lowest package is 39.90 if it hasn't changed yet. The one for all channels is 79.90.

I think they may have changed some of the pricing or is now requiring a contract, but I can find out for sure if you really need to know.

what about the networks in HD (CBS, ABC, etc) I don't see them listed. That WorldSport is the biggest piece of crap I've seen, looked at the program guide, all they do is show Spanish soccer!

Worldsport is pretty much for soccer from what I've seen. Some guys really like it. I don't watch it, but there are other channels. I like watching Rush. They have a bunch of stuff like wind surfing, skateboarding, hangliding, and some other extreme stuff. I've even seen rock climbing You get the CBS, ABC stuff OTA with the free antenna they give you. Those channels mostly show HD in primetime hours.

You have ESPN, ESPN-HD, ESPN2, ESPN News, and ESPN Classics, and I believe an ESPN alternate just in case, so you are oaky as far as sports go.

They aren't really done yet though. They are moving to MPEG-4 in the close to the last few months of the year, so it will give them the capability to add many more HD channels. They also so I've heard will be adding a couple of more channels along with TNT-HD soon, but I'll wait to see if that pans out. It may though because when they say they are, they take a minute then you turn the tv on one day, and boom.
