Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
If you have a tube or normal projection TV, your TV can't do 720p then. It'll only upconvert a 720p image to 1080i. Only Plasma, LCD, and DLP can do a native 720p. There's one tube out there, a Lowe's or something that can do it, but it's basically a computer monitor.Comment

Originally posted by Dark_Lord_VaderI have a follow-up on this. My TV is an HDTV. I have all three options turned on in the Xbox. (480p, 720p, and 1080i) I have the HD Pack for the Xbox too. Whenever I play a game, and I check to see what the game is running via a button on my remote, it always says 480p or 1080i. I have no option for 720p. Am I doing something wrong with the selections I have in the Xbox dashboard? I thought that by definition, HiDef (hence the HD-Pack that allows you to play with component cables) needed to be 720p or higher? Why would the HD-Pack market itself as a high-definition pack when in reality it is only 480p or 1080i?
Can someone help me with this?
2. Your TV probably only does 480p and 1080i and just up converts a 720p signal to 1080iMy Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
I would like to know if I need to turn 1080i OFF and 720p OFF on my Xbox dashboard, and then leave 480p ON in order to play a game that is presented in 480p. Or does the Xbox recognize which signal to use, and automatically use the correct one if you have all of them turned ON?Comment
