Don't insult me. I've watched plenty of movies that were just as long as king kong but the movie is terrible. It has nothing to do with not having patience or not understanding the story, the movie sucked plain and simple.

Wow I wouldn't want jmood reviewing movies for me....seems just a tad negative. I saw the movie today and I thought it was pretty good. The special effects will definitely win some technical awards at the Oscars. I will agree that the first quarter of the movie is really boring but it picks up and is quite a treat to watch.

To me the special effects were good in some places but bad in others. I don't really care if you like my opinion or not anyway, the movie is not that good and I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Just got back from seeing it. Good movie, great at some points, but I don't know. Too many way too over-the-top unbeliavble thing, some forced acting, and like soemone above said, I don't really care for seeing Kong make his mouth move and stuff for like 4 minutes straight at a time.

Personally I thought the realism of Kong was one of the best things about the movie. He wasn't a big puppet or robot like in past films. Yes, he was digital, but people like actor Andy Serkis, went through a lot of trouble studying silverback gorillas in Africa to get mannerisms, facial expressions, mouth movement, etc., down with incredible accuracy. He looked like a giant gorilla to me in all movements and actions.

I toally agree. But I am saying that I think they spent too much time showing it off. It gets old quick in a 3 hour 15 minute movie.

I saw this a few days ago and left very impressed. The first half in NYC was a little slow moving, but once things got rolling it really went well. I'm sure it was said before but I was impressed with Jack Black. I didn't know what he would end up being like trying to be "serious", but he played the role very well. Overall very good IMO.

                        One word, overkill.

This movie should have been two hours and fifteen minutes max.

For those saying some parts of the movie aren't believable...the movie is about a GIANT APE! It wasn't meant to be believable in the first place, which is obvious from the trailer, or from general word of mouth about the King Kong story.

I just don't see how anyone can call the movie bad. I can perfectly understand disliking the movie, but calling it bad just isn't right.

jmood, I recommend maybe giving the movie another shoot at another time when you not so stressed. That could be why it didn't hold your attention. It held mine the full three hours.

i saw it about a week ago and i really liked it... except for the fact that it was soo long... i think the parts in the jungle and in the city are extremely important to the plot but i also think all the background at the beginning before they got on the ship was unnecessary...
