Damn well my library didn't have either book JoeBudden reccommended ("1942:The Year that Tried Men's Souls", "First Heroes") though I did look for a specific keyword so I'll try again sometime.

Anyways I picked up a small, almost not even a book, "D-Day and the Battle for Normandy", just 179 pages but its good for getting back into reading. Also a much bigger book, I picked up "D-Day June 6, 1944: The Climatic Battle of World War II", 583 pages.

Both should both be good reads.

A friend just let me borrow her copy of Eragon, so I'll probably start reading it tonight sometime.

Thats the Stephen Ambrose book right? If so, its definitely worth reading, great book. Hes written a lot of good World War II books, Id recommend Band of Brothers and Citizen Soldiers, two other good ones.

I'm about half-way through with The Davinci Code and holy hell. Freaking amazing book. Recommend it for anyone. While it does have a strong religious base, it's still an amazing book, even if your like me and aren't very religious.

It's got a great story, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and still makes you think while reading it. I find myself stopping and trying to solve the codes or stuff myself, realize I'm an idiot and have no hope, so I move on. haha

It is pretty good, exposes alot of things you might have been taught about american history. A bit repetitive after th e first few chapters though...

Finished "The Da Vinci Code" last night, and started reading "Angels and Demons" an hour or so ago.

Dan Brown might be my new favorite author.

I preferred "Angels and Demons". The only thing I don't like is that in these two books, the plot progression is nearly identical and very formulaic. That being said, I'm looking very hard at the hardcover illustrated two pack at Costco. I think it would be neat having the art and architecture on the pages as you are reading.

I agree. I recieved both books (Angels & Demons and DVC) as Christmas presents last year. I read A&D first and read DVC this past Summer. Both books are very simular in terms of progression, as you said, the followed the same formula. I had a couple moments of "deja-vu" to so speak while reading DVC.

I'm finishing up Sharyn McCrumb's The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter. When I finish the semester (next week) I'm going to pick up Fight Club when I pick up the new Pearl Jam album. Then after that I'm going to borrow Wicked from a friend.

Just finished Game of Shadows yesterday, great book.

I don't have to read any more "independent" reading books for school, but I might get another book if I find something that interests me. I read a ton during my aiding class.
