    Harmony Remote = AMAZING

For Christmas I received the 360 Harmony remote. The thing is amazing. The setup portions are quite tedious, but worth it.

It didn't know how to change volume on my XM Radio!! OH NO!!!,... then I just went and grabbed my original remote and it learns!!! HOLY COW.

Rating on a scale of 10 so far ... 9.9!!!!

yeah I bought one of those things last year. I was a bit worried about spending that much on a remote control, but it has been worth absolutely every penny

Aren't these things a ridiculous amount of money for a remote?

I am not sure what could justify spending a lot on a remote, seeing that it is just that.. A remote.

The 880 is 250 bucks... color display . the other boring blue display is 100.

whats so special and better about one of these compared with a 15 dollar uiversal remote with TV,VCR/DVD, CABLE and a AUX..

I'm in the same boat as RubenDouglas... what's so great about a remote control? You change the channel and BLIP!

My buddy has this remote and it is nice.

A few years ago I bought the Home Theater Master MX-500. $200 and it does everything as well. The IR Learning function for remotes is one of the best features I've ever seen. Macros and punch-through buttons are a close second!

When you have a home theater system, it's just more convenient to have one that will turn every device on with a click of a button. Or control the audio from all inputs by use of punch-through.

A lot of these things cheaper remotes aren't able to handle (ie: IR Learning, punch-through, macros, DVR functionality etc...).

The one button thing is what I am going for. I hate having 4 remotes sitting around b/c I lose them.

I am having problems getting my LCD TV to set up correctly, ugh.

Its just much more convienent....I have an older model but generally has the same effect...heres an example. After everythingis configured(which is very easy and quick...you do it by going online to logitechs website and they have a huge database of equipment. you choose your equipment, how they are connected, and how you want them to work.

So when I hit the ......

"Watch Tv" button - TV comes on and to the correct display mode. Cable box turns on, and stereo receiver turns on and on the correct mode. Then the channel up/down works the cable box and vol up/dn works the receiver.

Then if I decide I want to change over and watch a movie.......

"Watch a movie" button - TV changes to the correct display mode, cable box turns off, dvd player turns on, stereo receiver changes to DVD mode.

Then the Off button turns off everything.

Pretty nifty if you ask me.

Haha. I mean... no doubt, that's a nifty remote. But for $250?

I pretty much ask the same thing with Photoshop's $600 price, etc. Granted, I have Photoshop, but I don't see why my dad spent so much for it.

There are some things that IMO, although are inelastic (quantity demanded remains at or near the same no matter the price), are just too expensive for my taste.

IMO, yeah it's worth $250 and even a little more. A good home entertainment system isn't worth much without a good remote that can control everything (Jls24 explained it very well). Of course this is all my opinion.

If you asked me in college or high school, I'd say no way - then again I had nothing more than a 15" TV to watch and game on. However, once you start working and making some nice $$$, toys like this are very much worth it.
