A few friends have it, and I'm in the car so little, I can't justify the 12.95 a month for it. But what I've heard has been pretty good.

I've had XM Radio for a little over a year now and I love it...I can't listen to normal radio anymore

No. You can get a boombox which you plug the reciever into. Works the same way.

If I didn't like listening to CDs, I'd be all over sat. radio, but I love my CDs, so nope. Its 100x better than FM/AM that's for sure though. My dad got Sirius for Christmas and he listens to it when he excerises. I'm playing Xbox with Sirius on, good music. I've heard a couple songs I hear on FM regularly at work, but other than that, good selections.

Each company has (or in Sirius' case is working on still maybe) handheld units as well

I'm planning on buying Sirius this weekend. I can't live without Howard and can't wait until next Monday! But, I have a question. I don't know which one to get, and I'm not 100% clear on how it actually works. I spend very little time in the car, and I really want something I can listen to on the treadmill and in my office at work. Does the basic Sportster work for that? Would I need an actual stereo, or would something like a clock radio or an fm transmitting walkman work? I'm a newbie but I really am ready to buy, just don't know exactly what to buy.

That's how I am, I either listen to ESPN Radio or the classic rock station when I'm in the car.

I have Sirius in both vehicles, and the Boombox unit. After hardly listening to it for 3 months, I've become addicted to it over the two.

I love it, and Howard Stern starts on the 9th.

I have this one:




it has a home kit you can get for it too, but you will need to plug it into a home stereo or something that has RCA jacks (red and white plugs). You can also listen to Sirius online too but not all the channels are available online. I think Stern is one of the ones that isn't online..
