True, when I saw Passion, the entire theater was packed and when it ended, everybody just got up and left without talking. I don't think this Flight 93 movie will be as powerful as that, but it will definitely be powerful in its own right.

I know, I was thinking the same thing. So who cares what happened? Its documented that the people made an attempt to take back control of the plane. Why tarnish their efforts by some random conspiracy theory?

I think it's about the last two survivors pulled from the WTC wreckage.

I could be wrong, but I'll try to find a link, perhaps from IMDB.

I also am excited about this, and the Stone movie. Should be interesting to see how it's received, particularly this one with so much controversy involved.

ahh found the link to the stone film...

"In the aftermath of the World Trade Center disaster, hope is still alive. Refusing to bow down to terrorism, rescuers and family of the victims press forward. Their mission of rescue and recovery is driven by the faith that under each piece of rubble, a co-worker, a friend a family member may be found. This is the true story of John McLoughlin and William J. Jimeno, the last two survivors extracted from Ground Zero and the rescuers who never gave up. It's a story of the true heroes of that fateful time in the history of the United States when buildings would fall and heroes would rise, literally from the ashes to inspire the entire human race."

Wow, I'm excited for both of these movies.

While I don't think it will be as gripping as Passion seemed to have been, I think it will be emotionally effective in it's own right. I sincerely believe that everyone in the theaters, probably will shed a tear during this movie because they were alive when it happened, they lived through it.

because it would be a PR nightmare, no matter how necessary or justified.

though, it seems like more of a conspiracy theory than anything else anyway, so it's not like it matters.

I have a feeling this thread could turn ugly. Smokey I am in the questioning stage of 911 so you are not alone.

As for the movie, I'm with smokie on this one, not of what he believes could have happened, but other possiblities as well. I mean they have movies about da vinci code, and that national treasure stuff, so we got this too. Make it whatever you think is right.

it's too bad other films that question things like this never get any attention.

If they did so now, yes, definitely. If they had admitted it up front, I don't believe so.

oh, if they admitted it now, it would obviously be a disaster. but i think that even if they admitted it up front, it still would have been a bad PR situation. but, like i said, it doesn't really matter and is a moot point.

see that's what's going to make this thread ugly IMO. I think we should stop before anything else happens.

If they shot the plane down then it won't be admitted for another 50 years. The US government has been like this regarding other "interesting" things.

I'll give a good example that relates to my background. In the early 1960s the US government interfered in the affairs of Guyana. The president at the time (Cheddi Jagan) was considered a radical and a communist (which he wasn't) The US used the CIA and other such groups to support his opponent (a man named Burnham) and bring him to power.

Unfortunately for the people of Guyana, Burnham was a dictator of the highest order. He was also a sympathizer to Castro and other Communist regimes. In the early 1990s Pierre Salinger (Kennedy's press secretary) made an official opology to Guyana. At that time Jagan had become president again and was viewed as one of the better 3rd world leaders.

Good idea. Feel free to continue to discuss this upcoming movie or the Oliver Stone 9/11 project, but if there's one more post saying ANYTHING about whether or not the plane was shot down, this thread's getting locked.
