Originally posted by asianflowThat doesn't make any sense. You're telling me the US gov't would risk a war with Russia by letting the terrorists have US nerve gas and then letting it go in Russia?
There was nothing at the beginning of this season to indicate Russian and US relations were sour.Cowboys - Thunder - AthleticsComment

Originally posted by OSUG1The plan was to give the gas to the terrorists, and then set off the canisters so that the gas kills the terrorists and helps protects the US.
If the US knew the terrorists were coming to US soil, they could have killed them without actually giving them the nerve gas.Comment

Originally posted by OSUG1They were going to set the canisters off in Russia to make it look like an accident by the terrorists. If the US just shot them while they were here it would of looked bad killing them.
It doesn't make any sense for Logan to have this "plan". Heck the Vice-Pres and Secretary of Defence didn't/don't know/knew about this "plan".
I hope they actually explain the whole situation before the season ends.Comment

Re: ***OFFICIAL 24: Day 5 Thread - SPOILERS for West Coast***
I agree that I think Logan was in on the same plan as Cummings, Cummings just didn't know the President was in on it. Good job acting as clueless by Logan. I think Henderson is the mastermind of it all and he needed Logan's power to get it done. Obviously Logan can be easily taken advantage of.
But from what I remember at the beginning of the season is that the whole operation wasn't an attack on Russia. Russia is the US's friend, the terrorists were against Russia. So the plan to destroy the terrorist with the nerve gas would have worked out good without hurting the US or Russia if it hadn't gotten spoiled by that one guy at the beginning. I can't remember exactly what happened at the beginning that led to the yellow tie guy breaking with the operation. Didn't an army guy get nosey of what was in the canisters or something?

Originally posted by OSUG1It would look bad because they know that the terrorists are in the country and all of sudden they are found dead with gunshots in them. Unless they were 100%, foolproof, without a doubt and are able to prove it that the terrorists are going to attack the US, which as we know wasn't their objective until later.
It still doesn't make any sense why Logan would risk so much for basically nothing. At least this whole Logan storyline wasn't thrown in the last minute. The USA today article said the producers decided in October he would be a bad guy.
I do remember Sutherland said the final 4 episodes were being re-written. For some reason I have a feeling Audrey and Heller still might be on the bad guys side.Comment

Re: ***OFFICIAL 24: Day 5 Thread - SPOILERS for West Coast***
Why the hell would they need that much gas to kill those terrorists, anyway? That's all BS. Logan is behind this, in a much different way than we're gonna sit here and ponder about. How? I have seriously no idea. They didn't do much to explain the plot this past episode.
I can see Heller being in on it, but I dont think so. If he was, the only way Audrey would be involved is if she defends her Dad by saying "Oh, he couldntve done this, no way, you guys are incriminating him just like me!" Maybe it's all retaliation for having a gay son, or something.
Novick and Manning? I have no idea where they are either. They have to show up soon. Maybe they went to catch a few Z's?
Awesome scene @ the bank this week. It was great.
What was up with the music in this episode also? Chloe is like some sort of secret agent or something? Weird.
Signs of "human" by that head chick @ CTU, but the guy remains a fruitcake.
How could they just let Evylyn just sit there like that, shot? That one was weird.
Was that Bill Buchanan in the previews for next week? Who was that guy that Jack was saying "Logan's using the military to stop me from exposing him".
Next week is the big showdown. Can't freakin' wait.Comment
