I know he revealed how to appear to be floating, but I'm not sure how far off the ground he looked.

He did reveal his levitation...if that's what is being discussed. Optical illusion in how the camera was and what Blaine was doing with his feet. He said he only got off the ground by 4-5 inches and that was both heels, but only the toe of one foot.

It sure did look real to me, but once revealed it was really pretty simple.

Do you really think he levitated? I'll admit Blaine is pretty amazing, but it all about the power of suggestion and slight of hand or foot. If he really levitated I would think he would be studied by many scientist as to how he defied the laws of gravity. Same with Copperfield walking through the great wall of China, great illusion but the military would love to learn his secret. We would not have even had to raid Iraq, just send a bunch of magicians over dissapearing, levitating and walking through walls, they would be unstoppable.

I'm just saying that I believed what I saw. I wouldn't believe they would pull camera tricks or anything.

Besides, there was another guy (other than Blaine) that goes much higher than Blaine. Let me find the video.

          Edit: Here it is.

Granted, it could be fake... but here you go anyway.

the "more to it" is that he actually liquified and became one with the glass. the paper was used because when he touched the paper, a chemical reaction happened which caused him to become solid again. without the paper he wouldve just drizzled onto the ground, ending his amazing and controversial magic career.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Thats pretty amazing, the one where he is by himself during the day time looked fake however. I still think there has to be a plausible explanation, I'm just a skeptic.

when that guy was in the air someone should have tried to jump and tackle him, just to see how real it was. pretty amazing though.

                        Hahah!!!

If it isn't staged and the people are regular bystanders, think it could be magnets or (silent) jet boosters or something?

Still, all magicians have such inflated ego's that they should be able to float...

read the comments at the botton of the first link. a few of them "get how" to do it.

I believe they were in a unique environment because, as someone stated earlier on the comments page, in real life it is illegal to have a door swinging away from the wall like that. either the door is in on it, or they recreated an environment and overlooked this small, but illegal in reallife, factor

Magic is magic. When I saw Dave Copperfield in Vegas, my gf went on stage with a group of ppl for him to perform this trick. To make a long story short, my gf was only a few feet away and till this day she cannot explain how a huge, hot rod car appeared right next to her under a big cover. You would think you can hear a a car move into place but one minute the car was'nt there, the next minute it was.

I don't feel like taking the time to read through this entire topic but are some people trying to argue that there are people who can fly, pass through solid objects, and make things appear/disappear? Magic tricks are just that, tricks. They're entertainment but they can be explained in the real world even if we, the viewers, aren't always clever enough to figure out how the magician pulled it off. If anyone truely believes those things are possible they should just insert themselves into the dictionary beside the word "gullible."
