How is the IPOD Video?
I'm thinking of getting one this week, is the IPOD video good?Tags: None -
Re: How is the IPOD Video?
I know some people who have them. They love it. They all say the video drains the battery like crazy, but I never really understood why battery life was such a big deal unless you plan on using the thing for 8 hours everyday with no access to an electrical outlet all day long. I know some people have that situation occassionally, but not every single day.
Anyway, the video looks nice, it is small, but still looks good as more of a bonus feature than anything. iPods are great in general if you want to pay for one, if you've got the money to drop and the video screen is a big selling point, then go ahead and get the iPod. You may want to do a check on some MP3 player forums to see if there are any bugs, I know the Nano has had some problems, but I haven't heard anything about the video yet. -
Re: How is the IPOD Video?
For anyone who has or is planning on buying a Nano or Video, I suggust you get one of these:
I have one on my Ipod video that I just bought, and it provides excellent protection against scratches, while keeping the same look of the Ipod.
So far, I like my Ipod. Sound quality is improved over the Ipod mini(only other Ipod I've tried)and you can put thousands of songs on there. If you have a very large Cd collection, a large capacity MP3 player is a must have. There's nothing like having your entire music collection in the palm of your hand.
Whatever Mp3 player you decide to get, I suggest you ditch the stock earbuds, and upgrade your headphones. I just picked up a pair of Shure E4G's and the sounds is outstanding, stock earphones don't come close. There a bit on the expensive side, but they're worth it if you care what your music sounds like. You can go to http://www.shurestore.com/index.html to view their selection, and they even offer a 30 money back guarantee if you're not happy with their headphones.Last edited by andayaman; 01-30-2006, 09:17 PM.Comment

For me the Video playback is an added feature. I was looking at the 4G Nano, but at $250 not worth it when I could get a 30G Video for $50 more. I have a PSP with 1G memory that I'm currently selling, and the thing wasn't a good substitute for an MP3 player.
Sony made one flaw with that system, they should have sold the system with a 10-20G HDD instead of the memory sticks. Then I could see Sony moving into the movie and audio market much smoother. Even if the system cost $300 instead of $250 since there is a 20G HDD in there, that would be great.
Back to the IPOD, has anyone heard anything about the 6th Gen of IPOD?Last edited by CaptainZombie; 01-30-2006, 10:25 PM.Comment

Re: How is the IPOD Video?
The video quality is excellent. My brother owns one and he has been pushing me to get one, but I wanted a little more feedback. Even if you don't use the video, the 7,500 song capacity and great Ipod interface makes the $300 investment well worth it.Comment

Re: How is the IPOD Video?
Originally posted by CM1847It is 2.5 inch, I know people who have watched full movies and they have no complaints. The video quality is probably better than that of a cheap portable TV. You would probably want to see if you can borrow someone's for a few hours before dropping that kind of cash though.Comment

Re: How is the IPOD Video?
I have to say that I am really happy with mine, My girlfriend bought it for me for christmas so I didn't have to drop the 300 for it, but either way I'm very pleased, it does it job, I haven't experienced any problems so I could care less what negative comments others have to say about it.Comment

Re: How is the IPOD Video?
My wife got me a black video Ipod for my birthday yesterday. Funny because I've been sort of anti-ipod for a long time. I haven't really gotten to use it yet, so what can I do with this thing besides listen to music and look at pictures and video?Comment

Re: How is the IPOD Video?
The only thing I have against the extra cost of the Video is the fact that I really would have no desire whatsoever to sit and watch a movie on a 2 inch screen. Music, IPODs kick ***. Video?... Not for me. I could see perhaps a business traveler loading up a movie before a long flight each week, but I don't think most people really have any use for it. At least I don't.Originally Posted by Briman123
