    RSS Feeds?

What are they? I'm hearing them mentioned more and more out here in cyber space and honestly have no clue what they are. Major Nelson talks about them all the time on his podcast.

    Re: RSS Feeds?

Basically displays RSS. Like in gmail I can add "rss feeds" which allows me to see the latest news, sports, etc. or say for a gaming site I could see the latest reviews from IGN and such.

Really depends what you are looking for. Every major site has it.

In a nutshell, RSS pushes news headlines from Web sites to an RSS reader on your PC. It saves a lot of time because the headlines come to you instead of you searching for the headlines. You can click on the headlines and be taken to the Web site and story from which the headline was taken.

          Very, very handy.

If you use Firefox, it's easy to determine if a site has an RSS feed -- an orange symbol will appear in the far right of the URL (Web address) window. It's square and looks like sound waves emanating from a dot. Left-click on that symbol, and you'll see a list of that site's feeds. Right-click on that symbol, and you'll get RSS options for those feeds.

It's effective, but I prefer the Sage extension for Firefox for reading RSS feeds. The reader is built right into the browser, and it's cleaner and more efficient than the default Firefox reader.

Either way, you'll love RSS. Makes browsing much more efficient, especially for sites that you visit often.

          Take care,
