Very, very handy.
If you use Firefox, it's easy to determine if a site has an RSS feed -- an orange symbol will appear in the far right of the URL (Web address) window. It's square and looks like sound waves emanating from a dot. Left-click on that symbol, and you'll see a list of that site's feeds. Right-click on that symbol, and you'll get RSS options for those feeds.
It's effective, but I prefer the Sage extension for Firefox for reading RSS feeds. The reader is built right into the browser, and it's cleaner and more efficient than the default Firefox reader.
Either way, you'll love RSS. Makes browsing much more efficient, especially for sites that you visit often.
