Seriously, I gotta applaud the guy for coming back from cancer. My dad died because of cancer. But that doesn't give him the right to be a jerk.Comment

Armstrong and his wife were on the outs for a while before the divorce. They made a final attempt at a reunion during Lance's fifth Tour victory in July 2003, and she accompanied him to France. But the reunion fell apart right after the Tour, and they filed for divorce in August, I believe.
Take care,

Originally posted by pk500For the record, Armstrong met Crow in December 2003 at some sort of public appearance both attended, approximately two months after his divorce from his wife was final. He did not leave Kristin for Sheryl Crow.

I really had never heard anyone call Lance Armstrong a jerk before this thread. A possible steroid user? Yes. But not a jerk.Comment

Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
Oh boohoo i'm crying here.
I knew this wouldn't last that long. Athletes and entertainment stars mix like water and oil. Heck the dichotomy between athletes and entertainers go back to the 1950s with the most famous case being Dimaggio and Monroe.
Oh and since it was brought up, I think Lance was on some kind of steroid in the 2nd half of his Tour dominance.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
Armstrong is an [alleged] steroid using prick in my book. How can you just kick the mother of your three children to the curb, not to mention the woman who stuck by you during your cancer, when she could have easily dumped your underweight *** and found someone that still had both testicles. I don't care if he met Sheryl Crow after they were seperated, or that he has a house within the same zip code as his kids. He's an *** through and through.
I also hate the money grubbing foundation he runs. It was bad enough to sell the cheap yellow wristbands that started a new rage (some kids have a bona fide rainbow on their wrists symbolizing everything from cancer to atheism). Now he's selling overpriced sweat shop made clothing under the Nike label, with a whopping 1% going to his foundation.
It's a shame that several people worship a no character man. So he won the Tour De France seven times, if it was aided by the same designer drugs that Bonds is using, the achievement means nil. He beat cancer...so. Thousands of others do as well, yet don't profit from it. Thousands more DIE and are forgotten. Point?

I have heard his wife left him. She wanted him to retire and spend more time with her and the kids, but he was obsessed with breaking the Tour record for consecutive victories.
On the subject on drugs, Lance Armstrong is the most tested athlete in the world. He has NEVER once tested positive for illegal substances which, given his cancer medication, is a miracle in itself. Not even a questionable result.Comment
