Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
Well there were a couple vials that showed traces of enhancers in them. I don't quite trust the French on this anyways as they've had it out for Armstrong since he started dominating the Tour.Originally posted by ObiWanJenkinsMember of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I've always heard he's a jerk too. One of those "I'm better than you" types. Props to him for going through what he did with his illness, but any guy that thinks he healed himself is crazy in my book.PS4: aBayBates

rumor has it that Lance isn't happy with her, mainly because she doesn't have a penis.

Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
I guess everybody has a different experience. These guys are more into the amateur competitions, and they said they came away with the impression that if you couldn't do anything for him, he wasn't interested. I've never met the guy, so I can't say either way.Originally posted by joebooI hadn't heard that. A guy I work with is a competitive cyclist (I forget which level, but he has met Armstrong) and he's never had anything negative to say about him.
You mean the alleged vials from 1999 that a laboratory tested six years later and just happened to test them as positive? The same lab that was funded by the French newspaper Lance successfully sued for libel? In this day and age I don't trust any athletes, but the claims are just too far fetched for me to believe.Originally posted by SPTOWell there were a couple vials that showed traces of enhancers in them. Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
Bingo. That's the truth. She wanted him home more, and his obsession with cycling and the record number of Tour wins prevented that.Originally posted by ObiWanJenkinsI have heard his wife left him. She wanted him to retire and spend more time with her and the kids, but he was obsessed with breaking the Tour record for consecutive victories.
Take care,

Lance Armstrong is a dick the same way Michael Jordan is a dick. They both wanted to win so badly that they wouldn't let anything get between them and winning. I also don't understand why everyone is so angry he divorced his wife...people change...give him some slack.Comment

I'll counter you on the MJ thing. I've had the opportunity to meet him a few times and he's never been anything but accomodating. When the Washington Wizards were in town for training camp, he was seen several times around town, always leaving more than an ample amount of cash for a tip, always smiling, always signing a few autographs whenever he was noticed.Originally posted by HerbsinatorLance Armstrong is a dick the same way Michael Jordan is a dick. Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
I'm shocked about this news.
As for Armstrong, let's also not forget that he has had his team helping him along the way to his Tour victories, and yet all the praise is heaped on him.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers
Marquette Golden Eagles | Milwaukee Bucks | Milwaukee PanthersComment

Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
Did you watch this past year's Tour? His team could barely keep up with him in many stages. US Postal was definitely a strong team in past years, but Lance was clearly the best rider on the team, by quite a large margin.Originally posted by pfunk880I'm shocked about this news.

What does a team do in cycling competitions? I've always heard how they can help but I've never known how.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

They can block for a guy, they can ride around him to kind of draft him in the same way they do in NASCAR. Those types of things.Originally posted by jmood88What does a team do in cycling competitions? I've always heard how they can help but I've never known how.Comment

Re: Armstrong, Crow Breaking Up
I'm sort of torn on this whole "Lance Armstrong being an *******" debate. On one side, I find him as an inspiration because of what's he accomplished, and everytime I look at my Livestrong bracelet (which I got shortly after my grandfather died from cancer), I always seem to try hard (sounds cheesy, I know). But then again, I can see how he could be an *** with him being ultra-competitive and all that.
Plus, I'd be anti-social and stuff like that with steroid allegations (whether he did or didn't take them).Blind to this impending fate
