I would probably agree 3rd. It def flows better then Chitlin Circuit. I like both albums a lot though.

1.5 has some bangers.

Chitlin Circuit was good, but thematically The Minstrel Show to me is one of the most important hip hop albums in recent memory. Chitlin Circuit is just a collection of pretty decent songs and some redone songs.

Minstrel Show is a project, like Masta Ace's concept albums.

Can't the same be said for The Listening? Wasn't that a concept as well? I thought the Minstrel Show was just a spinoff of that.

The opening track on Chitlin Circuit was tight. I remember when I first popped it in, he started babblin' "I wanna take time to welcome ya'll,its the Chitlin Circuit...1.5, Its ya man Phonte"

Yeah the same can be said for the Listening, and that was also a very good album. I thought the concept was better executed on the Minstrel Show though.

Especially when they had Joe Scudda backstage studderin' over his lines and he comes out later on the show and rips it on "Lovin It". Not to mention, that 5th and Fashion skit is funny as hell.

i think the minstrel show is their best album but everything they have done is at the very least a 9 or better(cept for big poohs -sleepers, i mean i like it but its just good) . it show just how great this group is.

See I think Sleepers is better than Chitlin Circuit and Foreign Exchange's Connected.

Chittlin Circuit 1.5>Minstrel Show (IMO)

Agreed, 9th's beats bored me on Minstrel Show after a dozen listens. The album didn't have the replay value that The Listening or Chittlin Circuit had.

Yea i was feelin the production more on he Chillen Circuit. I think Phonte had more quoteables on the minstrel show though. They are both good though.

The Ministrel Show got me into LB. They are second best group next to OutKast.
