Its possible, we just have'nt designed a craft that can withstand the pressures of the deep. I'm sure there is some lab working on this as the oceans are the last untouched relm of the earth. There are countless species that have yet to be discovered in the deepest parts of the oceans. If we can conquer space, I believe we can conquer the oceans.

Wasn't there a 10th planet discovered this past month that was bigger than Pluto?

Space has been something i've always been intrigued by. Sure the US spends a lot of money but as especialK said there's been great strides. One mission i'm really excited about is a space sattelite that will be going up in a few years that will look for earth like planets in space.
It'll be interesting to see if we can find other planets with the same size and chemical makeup that we see on earth.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Here's a short blurb via the LA Times about the new planet:
A so-called 10th planet discovered last year is bigger than Pluto, scientists say they have confirmed.
The astronomers who spotted the icy, rocky body — known as 2003 UB313 — had reported only a rough estimate of its size based on its brightness.
By measuring how much heat the body radiates, German scientists led by Frank Bertoldi of the University of Bonn estimated that UB313 was 1,864 miles across, according to the report in the current issue of the journal Nature. Pluto has a diameter of about 1,429 miles.
The object's name refers to a photo taken of it in 2003.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

It's been two or three years since I took Astronomy in high-school, but if I remember correctly, one of Saturn's moons is similar to Earth.

Like SPTO, space exploration has always been an interest of mine. I think the most exciting things they've discovered lately are the other earth-like planets they've found orbiting distant stars. The new satellite SPTO mentions sounds really cool.
If you want to check out a good website, I have www.space.com as one of my favorites. I usually read it once a day. Very cool pictures available in the gallery as well.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
