    Re: Grammys

I'm hoping there's another Ol Dirty Bastard (RIP) moment tonight.

Who could forget his rant when he said "I went and bought me an outfit today that cost me a lot of money, because I figured that Wu-Tang was gonna win! I don't know how you all see it, but when it comes to the children, Wu-Tang is for the children! We teach the children! Puffy is good, but Wu-Tang is the best! I want you all to know that this is ODB, and I love you all, peace!"

I wonder if Syxx will crash the awards tonight.

Yeah Kelly Clarkson just won a grammy!!!

Some good performances and Madonna looked the best I have ever seen her.

John Prine beats out Nickel Creek's Why Should the Fire Die? for Best Contemporary Folk Album.

And then Alison Krauss beats out "Scotch & Chocolate" for Best Country Instrumental Performance.

Followed by Springsteen topping "This Is How A Heart Breaks" for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.

And Clapton's Back Home winning over Chris Thile's Deceiver for Best Engineered Album.

        Not good times.

        Not good times at all.

I wish Bruuuuuuce would go back to making rock music and not the Woody Gutherie folk music but you can't go wrong with Bruce and Clapton man.

Paul McCartney performing Helter Skelter was freakin bad ***. That was one of the coolest things ive ever seen on the Grammys.

This Grammy's as a whole I feel is really strong. The production is top notch, and it's great that they realize people would rather see performances than award speeches.

Things were a little off during Sugarland's performance -- unfortunately one of the main ones I wanted to see. Other than a few glitches during it though, things do seem quite tight.

                      B:

It's the Grammy's, man. What do you expect? It's the most out-of-touch major awards show there is.

You'd think the Grammy's would have progressed from the point where Jethro Tull beat Metallica for best heavy metal band, but with Mariah Carey nominated for eight or nine awards, apparently not.

Anyone who takes the Grammy's seriously isn't a very discerning music fan, in my opinion. The Grammy's are good for one thing -- the live performances. The awards are a joke.

                      Sorry you're bummed out, though.

                      Take care,
