Kanye has worn weird outfits plenty of times before the Grammys. In fact, he wore that very same outfit(diffrent color of course) before, he just added the gloves at the grammys. I remember him wearing something similar at the MTV awards. Whenever he appears on tv, he dresses weird.

As for comparing him to Andre, I'm not really comparing him, it reminds me of when Andre first started wearing a turbin on Outkast's second album. Next album he flipped to the football shoulder pads and fur pants. Nobody will ever out-do Andre 3000 but dont be suprised when you see Kanye's outfits get weirder and wierder as time goes by.

Last thing I heard him do with DoD was "Higher". Yeah $10k is cheap but I remember when Kanye was giving away beats to get on.

I also remember he stiffed Payroll, another Chicago hip-hop/rap group. He took the beat he gave Payroll and gave it to Jay-Z. Jay-Z turns around and does the same song Payroll did...but changed up the lyrics some. Payroll didnt know about publishing...

Only ones who could afford a beat like that is Twista and Common.

Yeah he did a beat for Do or Die but that was booty.

Before he got big he did a beat for my man Micky who was signed to Cash Money. Its on one of his mix tapes. You can tell it was a throw away beat. He hooked up White Boy and Rhymefest as well. Rhymefest co-wrote Jesus Walks with Kanye. But to tell the truth, he is kinda looking out for chicago artist. There's Lupe Fiasco is in his new vid, Touch the Sky. He's doing more than what most chicago artist ever done if you ask me.

You know, I don't know what the hell the point of the Grammy's lifetime achievement awards are. Other than mentioning an influential artist that almost none of the Grammy audience knows of, much less has listened to their music, I don't see the point. The artist getting recognition gets the award and thats about it - no speical montage, no special song, nothing. I could understand with those who were producers and record execs, but when its David Bowie, Cream, Robert Johnson and Merle Haggard being acknowledged, how can they not play a song from their catalogue?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
