Re: Jim Rome to Satellite Radio?

I only had one laugh out loud Rome moment... It was a couple of years ago, and former major league outfielder Otis Nixon was arrested because he beat up his bodyguard... And Rome was like "I'm not sure what is the more disturbing part of this story.... The fact that Otis Nixon beat up his bodyguard, or the fact that OTIS FREAKING NIXON even needs a bodyguard.... Dude.... You're OTIS FREAKING NIXON... What the hell do you need with a bodyguard?!?"

I used to really like his show, listened to it everyday. It just seems like it's been in decline for the past couple of years. His interviews always suck, the phone calls always suck, etc. The only thing you can hope for is funny emails now, because that's where most of laughs come from.

I wish Jim Everett would scare his sorry butt under the table every show.

Every year or two he starts this "will I do radio or television"shtick, then he moans about it for a few months, and decides to do both. It's all an act. He obviously wants more money either from Premiere or from ESPN and uses his listeners to aid in the negotiations. I hope he goes to Sirius and quits doing ESPN so I never have to hear or see him ever again. The only good part of his show is the phone calls and emails from the clones, and the yearly smackoff is the only day of the year I listen to the whole program. The part that drives me craziest about Rome is how he badmouths athletes for days, but when they come on his show he is the biggest brownoser of all.

Bingo! Rome is the most two-faced buttlicker on sports radio today. No one lays down the smack on athletes when they're not on his show and then becomes lovey-dovey when they do appear on his show than Rome.

The sad thing is, the guy is a pretty good interviewer. If he stopped licking azz, the show would be more worthwhile.

              Take care,
