I spend much more money on music than movies, I've only bought about 5 DVDs over the past full year. Once I got a DVD player I collected my favorites and don't bother with too many new releases.

Same...Of course, with cd;s you can listen to the same cd every chance you can for motnhs at a time..you only watch a movie so often.

And don't ever walk through Sam Goody with the intention of buying music, that is not a good idea.

I was just walking through when I was at the mall...believe me, I NEVER shop there. The mark-up is just insane.

Music for me just isn't that big of a deal anymore. Even during school when I was getting my engineering degree, I didn't listen to music during homework or anything. I would keep getting distracted...I'm one of those who needs little to no distractions when grinding out complex equations.

I would be interested in getting back into music, but my tastes have totally changed away from my old punk and alternative and now to jazz and soul. I also am at a loss to the new style of "emo" music (and culture), which is some category that must have been created while I was in college, because I never heard of it while I was there, nor when I was in high school a decade ago.

Satellite radio. I'm loving it. Allows me to listen to all kinds of stuff that I might not have otherwise.

All of the above are worth a viewing, imo. Collateral features some top-notch acting from Foxx and Cruise and a tight story, GoNY is a long and violent epic tale with a great turn by Daniel Day-Lewis, and Get Shorty is a very good "cool" ensemble comedy in the mold of Snatch and Ocean's 11.

I thought it was better than Backdraft. Ladder 49 is good with flasbacks while Phoneix's character is trapped, and then the end is very emotional and I cried at the end. I think it would definitely be worth a rental.

Just making sure about Sam Goody,

I use music to relax when I'm doing work. When it is something serious, deadline approaching type deal I put on some soft stuff. But I almost always do with with some kind of music playing, just helps me relax.

Lol about the emo kids and their super tight pants, fo-hawks and 'always on the verge of tears' look. Some of the music isn't bad, but the whole scene thing is overrated. That, punk/pop or crap radio-rock pretty much rules the day right now. Although good music is out there, you have to do more work to find it than you did last time you were into music.
