    Re: Chappelle's Getting MORE Irritating

The problem is this: Dave is losing alot of fans right now. It was not like he was going out at the top of his career or anything, he had two good seasons of a tv show. 90% of the people dont know he is a stand up comedian or about previous movies, all they know is he had a hit show on comedy central, as it became the new "Cool" show to watch. Every year that goes past, those "fans" that watched his show will forget more and more about him. Only a fool walks away from something like this. His show was a run away hit, and if he did indeed walk away becuase he wasnt getting his cut on dvd sales, thats his fault to begin with, and also he would never have been in the situation he is in without comedy central. You dont bite the hand that feeds you, and in the current sitaution, he is not only biting but tearing it off. He needs to suck it up, gets his ungoldy amount of money and go on doing what he likes to do. If he doesnt want to do this type of stuff anymore, sack it up and come out an say it.

The thing stopping him from going back is that he doesn't care about any of the previously listed things.

      NFL: San Francisco 49ers
      NBA: Los Angeles Lakers

Dave's gotta strike while the iron is hot...A few times lately someone has made a Chappelle joke in conversation, or a Chappelle Show reference, and people are like "That's so yesterday, man"...I don't think he has the longevity of South Park (and I personally haven't watched it in years, but a lot of people apparantly still do, because it's not cancelled yet)

Chappelle lost a bit of his edge why? He learn one important thing, America may be divided at times by race relations, but it is always divided by income bracket.

It's hard to be a comedian when you $$$ in the bank.

Thats the thing...he doesnt care about that. Half of the people who watched Chappelle Show started watching after the Rick James episode and Chappelle doesnt care if he loses them. The show was popular and a hit by CC standards before he blew up with the Rick James episode. His first season ratings were good and the first season DVD sold well too. If he takes another year off and comes back with Chappelle Show or some other show, it will be a hit as long as its funny.

somewhat true, but I don't think losing half your audience and then having to win them all back is quite as trivial as you think (how many of the people who got hooked in the 2nd season ended up buying the first on DVD?). As long as he's funny though you are right, it will be a hit.

I still say the funniest skit he ever did was the White Supremacist skit.
