I'm well aware rap is mainstream. I grew up listening to NWA so I've been amazed at the progress of rap in terms of mainstream coverage. I'm basically saying rap hasn't exactly been featured all that much at the Oscars (2nd or 3rd biggest program of the year in terms of ratings behind the Superbowl and maybe/probably American Idol Season Finale).

There have not been that many movies that had rap that was prominate in it that was nominated for a oscar besides 8 mile.. Plus I grew up with suger hill gang so I am not suprised that rap is where it is and mainstream media coverage has no choice but to recognize raps influence on our culture.

Seymour Hoffman finally gets his due. Capote comes out on DVD later this month. I can't wait to check it out.

If you take MI:2, subtract John Woo and then add Seymour Hoffman, you have a much better movie. That can still equal crap though.

I loved the first one. The second one, which was dumbed down because nobody understood the first one, sucked.

But I'm glad MI:3 is coming out, if for no other reason than that it's given them incentive to put out an anamorphic DVD of the first movie to tie in with the opening of the new one.
