Of course you would think that he's way better than chris rock

Anyway, yeah jon did a good job. At the beginning he seemed nervous but he got better later on.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I found this to be the least host centric Oscars in a LOOOONG time which is a good thing. You don't have any material dragging down the show. Stewart did a very good job and unlike other hosts he wasn't "above" the show. He blended in so well that I forgot he was the MC.

Witherspoon came close. She was about to cry at the end.

But, if a joke about race were said. This thread would be closed instantly and the person would probably be celled/banned.

Yet, with homosexuality, it seems like it's ok to make jokes about.

It should be frowned upon for both things, not only one of them.

I wasn't referencing Crash at all in my quote. I was referring to Brokeback and Capote. It would have been amusing to me if Brokeback lost, silencing the naysayers, while another "gay" movie won.

Truman Capote was a homosexual (or bi...I don't know) and his works had homosexual themes.

My fellow poster of the year winner makes a great point. There's a huge double standard but it's been that way for YEARS really. Kinda sad if you ask me.

Oh, like I said, I've never seen it and don't know anything about Capote so I was lost on your quote.

                                1) It's not a race, it's a religion

                                2) it's a lot more tolerable when a person of said group jokes about it but when outsiders do then it can have the veneer of hatred in it.

Anywho this is getting way too political for the board so this is my last comment on this particular subject.
