 Re: fans of underground rap?

The new Styles P album "The Ghost Sessions" is pretty good.

The song "Hold On" ft. Jay Rush is Unbelievable! The hook in the song is very well done, and the flow and style of Styles P is at it's best. This track definitely rivals "I Get High" as his best song. Fizzy Womack produces the track (same guy who did "I am the Truth" by AZ off The Format), which in itself tells you that this work will be fire when you hear it .

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

 Re: fans of underground rap?

 88% ... B+

Will Smith definitely was the name behind the dynamic duo of the Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff, but Jazz has proved to be the one with the true longevity in rap, especially with Return of the Magnificent. Like 9th Wonder said in his own answer & question blog, "it's adult contemporary hip-hop at it's finest". I whole-heartedly agree with this statement and the easy-going style especially on his piano-driven tracks are superb. He matches Little Brother behind the art of making good skits and really being original with them. The back-half skit after the song "Go See the Doctor 2K7" is a crack-up, when he calls Will Smith, but you need to listen to all the skits to get what's really going on. That skit is the front-runner to winning the Skit of the Year Award for my fans of underground rap? awards.

 Re: fans of underground rap?

gotta love that. Screw it up for your own group. I always felt DJ Premier was better outside of Gangstarr too, but Gangstarr is still beastly.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment
