I like their stuff a lot.....already downloaded it on itunes a while back. They're solid, but probably a little overhyped....

A lot better than I expected. Their debut is better than Franz Ferdinand or Bloc Party, two of the most recent UK hype bands. Really solid album start to finish. The singer's accent is a bit much, but you get used to it.

I can't imagine they're better than Bloc Party....that was nearly my favorite album of last year. I'll have to check them out.

My opinion on Bloc Party is that they have a couple of great songs, a couple of decent songs and the rest of the album is boring. I think the Arctic Monkeys album is much more consistently good from start to finish than Bloc Party's. AM are also a bit more rocking than BP. I think the best comparison to AM are Franz Ferdinand, and after listening to the AM's album more and more, I really don't think FF's debut comes close to AM. All my personal opinion though.

Regardless, they are worth checking out.

If they put out a sophomore album as good as Oasis did, they have every right to get a big head. But yeah, I hope they are actually good 15 years from now, not just making headlines by saying stupid ****.

I just picked up their CD the other day and I was amazed. It seems whenever you hear about these bands exploding and being labeled the next big thing they're never as good as you expect, but Arctic Monkeys really are.

I agree. Good band. Not very original, though, and certainly not the Second Coming as the press has hyped. But I do like the band's attitude, music and lyrics.

Ive downloaded a few songs on iTunes and enjoy them. I don't think that they are as good as most of the media is claiming, but I like listening to the songs I have.

I like them alot, my friend has there CD and i thought they sounded like the hives a little and a little bloc party.

So, is it pretty much agreed upon that these guys are just another in the long line of "oh my god, these guys are the band that is going to light the world ablaze" who just happen to sorta fade back into obscurity after a huge debut release week? All the critics build them up, say how unbelievable they are, they are the next Nirvana or whoever, say how their sound is going to revolutionize music as we know it, but then just sorta... Doesn't. They have this big first week, everyone says how amazing the CD is... And then their fifteen minutes end before they make it out of that first six months of stardom.

I wouldn't say that, yet. They are a good band, they play good rock music. They aren't blazing any new trails here, but they have an album full of good rock songs. They aren't going to change music, but they might turn out to be an excellent band. I say they are easily better than Franz Ferdinand, and better than Bloc Party as well. They aren't as good as Arcade Fire or Art Brut though. Of course they were overhyped, but the Brits didn't seem to think so, they sold a crazy amount of albums over there. They are worth listening to, but they aren't the best band in the world.

It is always the second album that proves if a band is worth anything or not.

I finally heard the cd today and sort of enjoyed it, not gonna lie. But i don't think it touches Bloc Party...the instrumental work on that cd is sick

yeah, but once again to me they sucked live on SNL. It could just me and being to old to get into this kind of music. I'll check out their album on Napster and see what is all the hype is about.
