Whatever happened to bodyguards. You know, the cats who legally can carry firearms. I guess it aint gangsta to have body guards to protect you nowadays. People call 50 Cent a wangsta cause he has half of the state police escorting him where ever he goes, I think the man has a brain.

I can't help but post in this thread now that I see that.

(In my next rant, "you" would be a rapper)

Look... I understand that where you came from was tough... you came from the projects, or Compton, or wherever. But now that you're rich... shouldn't you protect yourself? Bodyguards, avoiding conflict? Just cause you're a "tru thug" means you have to go into fights with other "posses"? I think that's very foolish.

Maybe I just don't understand, though.

From what? A man with a video camera, who just happened to have taped a fight that Jeezy was involved in? This thug stuff has got to end. It is not cool to go to jail or die in a shootout before your 30th birthday!!

After you are 30, all bets are off.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

Armed bodyguards are expensive. Jeezy isnt a millionaire but he would still get robbed. 50 Cent is a multimillionaire and he can afford to hire half the state police.

Look man, that "hood" attitude may impress you, but I grew out of that years ago. I dont need some gun wielding cats, who are rich might I add, to impress me. This street cred nonsense is getting out of hand. You may think all the gun play is cool now, but when you or someone close to you catches a bullet you may sing a diffrent tune.

Exactly. When did being gangsta become more imortant than being smart, or better yet, alive?

But would'nt you want at the very least, 1 person for protection? He may not be a millionaire but he definitely can afford "legal" protection. If you have some form of limelight, you should'nt be putting yourself in these situations in the first place.

What usually happens at a club? A fight breaks out so why even put yourself in that situation without a guard? Of course, he considers his entourage as "the guards" but usually, the entourage consist of known felons or petty criminals anyway.

All I'm saying is these rappers dont be thinking. If you were rich and famous, would you put yourself in a situation where you can possibly get shot at? Or have your riches threatened? Or even get your ppl in harms way? There is a right and wrong way for everything and these rappers are all doing it wrong.

Think about it...Young Jeezy just had his first album. He probably isnt even close to being a millionaire. While he is touring and promoting his album, he travels to a ton of cities and probably goes to a bunch of clubs. So having 1 bodyguard would entail him paying the bodyguards salary, hotel and travel expenses which probably would run him a couple 100,000. Again he probably hasnt even made that much yet.

Its economic suicide for someone like him to hire a armed and licensed bodyguard. Its cheaper to carry a gun and risk a charge.

Naw, dont give me that lame *** reason. Money can change any man. It can ethier change them for the good or it can change them for the bad but most of all it changes them. Its the ppl you hang around that can take you back. The lowlifes.

If I put you in this quiet suburb and gave you alot of cash I highly doubt you'll be the same person you were in the hood. Its the lowlifes trickery of the mind that makes one keep a ghetto mentality. You're soppose to break free from all that. Whatever happened to being sucessful and moving on with your life? If the ties to your past were no good for you, you should feel no shame and breaking those ties. But instead ppl let this "sellout" word get to them. It can also get you into trouble which has been the case with countless rappers already.

If you take a man out the hood they are soppose to better themselves, not live in the past.
