    Russell Simmons, is that you?

Actually aholbert knows plenty about the inner working of the industry, if you would of seen some of his past post, you would know that but it looks like we have another know-it-all on our hands.

Besides, what in the blue hell have you added to the thread?

you wouldnt know whats its like to be a thug and then just come up on money - neither would i but still. its not realistic to think that money is going to make you a better person. put some thugs in the burbs and they will act like thugs - regardless if they arent in "the hood" anymore.

its not that i condone "thugs" , hell i hate lowlife ppl/ i get hit up often by the local gangsters and i cant stand them but if someones ghetto-they re ghetto ...money aint going to change that.

There is no way to positively test ethier of our theories unless some new realilty show hits the tv. I'm gonna stick to my thoughts that its the ppl you hang with that make a person keep a hood image. Money will definitely change your mentality. Most rappers stick with their old thug buddies so thats why they are always riding around with guns. If they made their lifestyle better, you would'nt need a gun. You'd know what you can and cant do and where you can go and cant go in public.

I only know a few cats besides myself who left the hood, started a family and distanced themselves from their old lifestyle. You gotta grow out of the thug mentality at some point. You land a nice job and make a honest living, you try to sorround yourself with ppl of that calibur. Show me one rich thug in the world thats not a rapper or a basketball player(had to throw that in there and I'll agree with you.

              Thuuuuugggg Life Baaaby...

Naw, never was a thug. Hung around them plenty though. Back in my teenage years you did'nt have to be initiated in a gang, you just sort of hung around them and next thing you know they shaking your hand. I most defitnitely could went that route, in fact I was real close but I realized I was to smart for a gang. Not that I'm arrogant or nothing but if you wanted to do some dumb **** to be cool and accepted, you got problems.
