Re: Issac Hayes didn't quit Southpark
I recommend you pick up the Rolling Stone issue with the snowboarder on the cover; it has a 12 page article about Scientology that is the most in-depth article anyone has ever published. It was written with the help of ex-Scientologists as well as the actual church. It will creep you out, but at least you'll understand it more. I picked it up yesterday at the PX here on base. I don't know how new the issue is, since I'm in Iraq, but look for it.Back in the NCAA saddle after 17 years.Comment

Re: Issac Hayes didn't quit Southpark
What's the month on the cover? I'm definitely curious to read that stuff. I feel bad too cause I use to look at Tom Cruise as a cool "light" guy and all. Seems like most of the cool "light" guys seem to have glaring "problems" with themselves.
On another note, wasn't MSN trying to remove itself from NBC just a few months ago? I think there was an article talking about how it wasn't beneficial like they thought it was going to be and are really trying to get out of their contract or something like that. Which news is the legit news? Fox or MSNBC??Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Wow, thanks for the links guys, i've been reading on this cult. And I thought the Jehovah's Witnesses were the nuttiest cult (alot of people in my family are members of the Witnesses so I know firsthand) but I do believe they've just been trumped. What a bunch of "out there" ideas they have.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

You give those beliefs such a bad connotation. Scientology, though weird to us, is still a religion to those that follow it. It's not some silly cult. A lot of time and energy was spent in developing their system of beliefs and quite honestly, when you get down to the grit of it all, they want exactly what everyone else wants."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

It's just a different kind of cult than the other ones. "Cult" does sound bad but by one defintion all it means is: "A system or community of religious worship and ritual."
It's true they want exactly what everyone else wants, but if you've read anything about Scientology you'd understand that it's goes beyond normal cults. However, I don't like making fun of scientology...just like I don't like making fun of the Christian fundamentalists or whatever. Hell, half the country thinks Jesus is coming back.
I'm glad the chef is still a cool guy.
