    Re: help with love/soft songs

Your girlfriend thinks you don't have a soft side...

...and you can't think of any soft songs, so you ask for advice.

Maybe your girlfriend is on to something here .

Better approach may just be "yeah you're right honey".

Getting advice for a love song is pretty tough to do. You either identify with it and instantly think of your honey, or you don't. One person may feel completely different about a ballad than you do, and I'm not sure you'll get what you're looking for by people randomly spitting out song titles for you to check out, but that's just my opinion.

Tenacious D has some really nice ballads.
        Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

"I Used to Love Her," by Guns 'N Roses.

          The chorus goes:

"I used to love her ... but I had to kill her. I used to love her ... but I had to kill her. I had to put her ... 6 feet under. And I'm happier that way."

Is that sensitive enough? "Back Off B*tch" by Guns 'N Roses also is an alternative.

          Take care,

Only "soft" songs I listen to are ones by bands that normally are just rock, like Swing Life Away by Rise Against, a lot of Skynyrd as larry pointed out (Free Bird, Simple Man), maybe some from The Ataris (Between You and Me, In this Diary), maybe some Eric Clapton, and Dust in the Wind is a nice softer song.

"This Aint Pleasure" by L7 is a pretty good love song.

                            as a serious response

Lifehouse - Everything (off No Name Face album)

starts off really soft and slow then eventually picks up steam; really good song, will most likely be played at my wedding.
