Re: help with love/soft songs
Your girlfriend thinks you don't have a soft side...
...and you can't think of any soft songs, so you ask for advice.
Maybe your girlfriend is on to something here.
Better approach may just be "yeah you're right honey".
Getting advice for a love song is pretty tough to do. You either identify with it and instantly think of your honey, or you don't. One person may feel completely different about a ballad than you do, and I'm not sure you'll get what you're looking for by people randomly spitting out song titles for you to check out, but that's just my opinion. -

Re: help with love/soft songs
"I Used to Love Her," by Guns 'N Roses.
The chorus goes:
"I used to love her ... but I had to kill her. I used to love her ... but I had to kill her. I had to put her ... 6 feet under. And I'm happier that way."
Is that sensitive enough?"Back Off B*tch" by Guns 'N Roses also is an alternative.
Take care,

Re: help with love/soft songs
Only "soft" songs I listen to are ones by bands that normally are just rock, like Swing Life Away by Rise Against, a lot of Skynyrd as larry pointed out (Free Bird, Simple Man), maybe some from The Ataris (Between You and Me, In this Diary), maybe some Eric Clapton, and Dust in the Wind is a nice softer song.Comment

Hurt - Danse Russe....
^Acoustic Metal band... Metal with a lot of stringed instrument arrangements. The vocalist plays all the stringed instruments... Was first seat violinist on the Virginia Orchestra at the age of 14...
Hold onto me please
Don't you let go of me
Come on over
Roll on over
I just need to feel you breathe
Hold onto me please
Don't you let go of me
Think on over
Roll on over
I just need to feel you breathe....
Into my head is out of my mind
Then I become a day behind
And I can't help but wonder why that some days are the very worst case
When I cannot believe that I'm living this way
Kismet tell me its okay and I'll guess it's just a twist of the fate
There's a tiny dancer in my bed
And she never has too much to say
She reminds me of the Danse' Russe
When my emotions are wounded
Her motions and movements chase the ghosts from me
Hold on to me please
Don't you let go of me
Come on over
Roll on over
I just need to feel you breathe
Hold on to me please
Don't you let go of me
Come on over
Think it over
I just need to feel you...
Quietly while you sleep
Whispering the sweetest things
Close those eyes and start the dream
'Cause all of this is what you mean to me
Come over and I'll show you
Shamrocks are an eight-leaf clover
Won't you reach up and touch my shoulder
And sing to me heavenly
Yes, sing for the life of me
About a tiny dancer in my bed
When she never has too much to say
She reminds me of the Danse' Russe
When my emotions are wounded
Her motions and movements chase the ghosts from me
'Cause there's a tiny dancer in my bed
And she never has too much to say
She reminds me of the Danse' Russe
When my emotions are wounded
Her motions and movements ...
Won't you chase my ghost from me...Comment

Re: help with love/soft songs
as a serious response
Lifehouse - Everything (off No Name Face album)
starts off really soft and slow then eventually picks up steam; really good song, will most likely be played at my wedding.
